Hello! Thanks for coming to our page! Please watch the video for our Summer Studio 2012 and if you like what you hear we’d love it if you would support us and at the same time helping to support other young artists!
Here is our website www.hellocollective.org check us out!
Who are Hello Collective?
We are Hello Collective an artist led organization designed to bring together international artists for the purpose of support, dialogue and collaboration. The Collective is run by Michael and Abigail, both practicing artists who love to collaborate, experiment and support other artists in a way that benefits all. We are also supported by a wider web of artists involved in a wide range of expertise.
We need funding to help run a 6 week long artist’s residency programme in the picturesque town of Cieplice, Western Poland. We hosted the project for the first time last year relying heavily on our own money, volunteers and charges to the artist. We hosted 15 artists from 8 countries and it turned out to be an exciting learning experience for us and the artists alike.
Most importantly we discovered that this residency is extremely valuable and should be sustained, however we need your help to make this happen! We also need to be able to make our project as accessible as possible, to all artists, which is why we need funding to help us support our artists. Our dream is to be able to make the residency free to all artists, and if possible to offer them funding for travel and material costs, if we raise enough host a final exhibition.
What is the Summer Studio 2012?
Summer studio 2012 is about offering 5 early career artists the opportunity to live, work, talk, experiment and grow together for 6 weeks, The residency is for developing confidence, offering critique and developing a solid and strong body of work.
The project is also about being open to the idea of simple, eco-friendly, cooperative living in a remote location, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but where communication and support is encouraged and nurtured by the Collective.
We will provide the artists with accommodation, weekly critique groups with the hosts and invited mentors, as well as numerous group discussions focusing on all things from art to life.
Artists are required to produce a body of work during the residency period, this will be documented and recorded as part of the Collective’s archive and website and will be exhibited if, with your help, we are able to raise the funds to do so.
What we need the funding for?
As a non-profit organization we are dedicated to giving everyone an equal opportunity to be part of our project. With this in mind we are asking you for your support and kindness to bring this into reality.
If you are able to help us raise our minimum then this will give us the funding essential to getting the project off the ground. It will enable us to get all our materials to the space, cover all the bills for running the space and the basic living essentials. However this will mean that we still need to charge the artists around 60€ per week.
If you were able to help us raise double our minimum we could cover the cost of the accommodation / studio space, enable internet access in the space, be able to pay the mentor artists, make general improvements to the studio space, as well as creating outdoor space, and we will not need to charge the artist at all.
If we can raise double that again we will be able to cover all of the above plus assisting with artists transport, provide all materials for the artists, and to give us the funds necessary to host an exhibition, showcasing the work created, which would be truly fabulous!
Why Cieplice, Poland?
The residency first came about by our love of travel, but our strong desire to continue working together, supporting one another, and was made possible by a simple act of friendship. The Hello Collective was offered the space, nestled in this beautiful part of the world, by another artist who was eager for young artists to put energy back into a vacant but once vibrant studio. The location allows the Collective to bring together a mix of artists to work and communicate in a part of the world where a humble, quiet and simple life is the norm, away from the noise, pressures and distractions of everyday life.
Smile & Thank you!
