"The day that you have been waiting for has come. Get ready for your „Heldentaufe“. At last, you can prove that you are worthy of being a member of the Hero's council. Show us your skills by collecting 20 monster teeth and be the first to return them to town."
The unique experience of "Heldentaufe" arises due to two distinct but connected realms: The Upper world and the Netherworld. Heroes can travel back and forth to the separate worlds through so-called "portals".
Events and activities taking place in the Upper world are mostly serene and peaceful. You will harvest natural goods, carry out missions and trade items that you find. Somewhere hidden in the Netherworld lies a bright and shiny treasure. But what underworld would be complete without monsters and traps?
Players will change perspective frequently since they not only have to tell their hero which move to make next, but also command the monsters in the Netherworld, as soon as an opponent enters the dark realm. In a game with three or four players, forging an alliance to increase a player's odds in combat against monsters can be a smart choice. However, players should choose their swordmates wisely - once unearthed, the treasures of the netherworld might lead even their most trusted allies to suddenly turn against them... Due to the two distinctly different worlds, both aggressive warmongers and pacifistic characters will embrace the gameplay of Heldentaufe.
A game for tactical players who can count on their luck in critical situations.

In 2009, as a true game-author rookie, Simon began to work on the first prototype of "Heldentaufe". Deeply influenced by the classic adventure games in his youth, he tried to infuse the board game with the same feel of adventure, which he had previously encountered solely in computer games.
The development of the game posed some real challenges, with new questions and inconsistencies popping up frequently, and whose solutions required major changes to the game.
Now, after five years of constant tweaks and adjustments, the "Heldentaufe"-team has managed to come-up with a fluid and well-balanced gameplay. We are delighted to present the game in final form!
We are very excited about our crowdfunding project, and would like to thank our supporters in advance for their much appreciated donations.

Risks and challenges
We hope, we will be able to deliver "Heldentaufe" in October 2015. In case of great success, maybe, we will have to illustrate some more stuff and this may the delay the finishing of the project. We also keep in mind that ESSEN 2015 will take place also in October, so everybody is going to manufacture his game at Ludofact. Therefore, some additional delays might occur.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
