Heavy Gear Blitz 2017 Kickstarter Preview: Peace River Warrior IV Model
The Heavy Gear Blitz 2017 Kickstarter to make plastic miniatures for the Peace River, NuCoal, and Utopia faction core models is now set for a mid-September launch. We had hoped to be ready for a July launch, but our 3d modelers are still working on the models for the NuCoal and Utopia. Plus with Gen Con in August and all the work that entails, we think its best to wait until after its out of the way.
The core models for Peace River are finished and ready to preview. We have listened to everyone's feedback from our the first Heavy Gear Blitz Kickstarter. And talked to our modelers on what could be done to get better details on areas like heads and better pose options for the arms and legs. Checkout the Warrior IV preview below with improvements to the head, torso, hips, arms and legs and let us know what you think with your comments.
One cool addition to Solidworks 3d software is the ability to save the parts and assembly models as 3d PDFs. Here is a link to download a 3d PDF (2.9MB) of the new Warrior IV model. Once on the download page, you will need to right click on your mouse for the option to save the file or you may have a download button at the top right of the screen to click, as 3d PDFs won't open automatically online. And you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader DC for PC or MAC, here is a link to its download/install page. Once you have the filed downloaded to your computer and open it using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, here is a short preview below with screen captures of the Warrior IV 3d PDF.
Once you have the 3d PDF open you can rotate the model and zoom-in using the mouse. Image below shows where to click to open the Model Tree. You may have to right click you mouse to see the option to open the Model Tree and other special options of the 3d PDF.
Once the Model Tree button is clicked a list with all the parts shows up on the left and you can click on the parts to select them. And clicking on the check box beside each part turns them on and off.
Below shows the Warrior IV autocannon part box unchecked and the part becomes invisible on the 3d model. You can turn off parts and zoom-in to just a single part if you want. There are also options to do cross sections and lots of other cool stuff.
We want your feedback on the Warrior IV model, leave you comments below. We continue tweaking the parts up until the Kickstarter launch to get the best new plastic models possible. Upcoming previews will include the Warrior, Skirmisher, Crusader IV, and Argos models for the Peace River Faction.
