I don't understand this so I will assume it is magic.
@DP9: Ah, alright, looking forwards to it!
@ Derek Glassman. Right now the mold manufacturer in China is working on the mold layout. Some of the parts sprues needed to have the spacing between some of the parts increased a bit and a few parts needed some small fixes that they spotted. They should be sending us the final mold layouts next week for us to sign-off on and then they will start actually cutting the mold plates in February. We expect the final test and approved molds to be finished and shipping to our plastics manufacturer in the United States around the middle of March. It should take about a month to shipped the molds by boat for China to the USA and the plastic injection company we are using in Indiana should receive them in late April and b eable to start popping plastic for us. We'll then be able to start shipping Backer Rewards some time later in May.
By the way, does "in production" mean the molds themselves are being made or that they're being used to make sprues already? Do you have any sort of ETA?
Mmmmm... "how it's made" porn. :D
Thanks for that. A bit of an insight in to the production process is always fun.
I'll admit, that's a lot more complicated than I expected. Great use of the update and thanks for the knowledge bomb.
I can really see why the too.ing for plastic injection is so expensive. Great update.
For anyone else wanting to know more, here is a great video explaining all the details of it: https://youtu.be/RMjtmsr3CqA
I'm really looking forward to this kickstarter delivering, guys.
