Happy New Year Everyone from the Staff at Dream Pod 9, may you all have a great 2016!
Freaking outstanding work, guys. I am so excited about finally having this stuff in my hands, but at the same time, I'm extremely happy that you're taking the time to get it just right so we can all have a finished product we're proud of.
Keep up the good work, and all the best in 2016! Hopefully it'll truly be the Year of the Gear!
Thank you for the updates, guys. Merry Christmas, and appreciate the explanations. :) See you in the new year!
@Plague Beast. We have already have sent test parts sprues in the past and gotten feedback. That's why we did our update in late September to let everyone know that we had to get some of the parts fixed up and make sure the parts mold parting line was good on all of them. Its the normal way things are done, we got estimated mold costs before the project was started, based on the number of robot models and average parts count. Now that we have the final robot parts sprues done with the final number of parts in each, we give them to the mold manufacturer to get the final cost of each mold. Some with more parts cavities will cost a bit more and some with less parts a bit less. It should take about two months to get the molds manufactured and the first plastic test pops approved. Then the molds will be shipped to our plastics manufacturer in the United States to start the Kickstarter production run. We'll keep everyone updated as we get closer to shipping our first wave of Backer Rewards.
Wtf? You are finishing the sprues THEN sending away to the mould manufacturers to get a price, shouldn't they have input on the sprues setup - they may be able to suggest cheaper options or what's feasable or not? Surely this is going to ADD additional time!
