@DP9 That is awesome, but does seem like it could be confusing to have some on round and some on hex. The only gears I have now are old 1st edition northern gears. Not even sure if they are the same size anymore. I'm excited to be getting back into HG and the gears from this kickstarter will give me what I need to try to get others into the game.
@DP9 great thanks love the game, but never been a fan of hex bases lol
@ Joseph. Yes, you can base them on 30mm Round Bases. We have even made them available for purchase on the Dream Pod 9 Online Store. Here is a link to the ordering page if you need some.
@DP9 so gears can be mounted on 30mm rounds without problems?
@ Anon. Sorry about the delay, in retrospect we should have just put out the rules as a word document back in December and all the models as an excel file. The basic layout of the Living Rulebook Beta has been done in Adobe InDesign then we see where we are missing texts needed. Like for all the short vehicle descriptions, history and other fluff texts that are still needed. We have decided to get the free ebook out this week and continue to work on those texts and add them in future updates to the ebook as they are finished.
I'm confused by what "are going to released what we have ready to show" means.
I hope it means that a new version of the rules is going to be released, but that the formatting and such won't be quite 'finished' or as nice as was originally planned.
I'd rather have sections of the rulebook with unformatted/plain rules text and rough diagrams (of the sort in the beta rulebook), and be able to read through the rules, than to keep waiting for the rule updates originally schedule for December.
@ Edward. We just have more basing options now, most of the gears are still on 25mm Hex bases, but you can put them on 30mm round bases and larger gears can be on 40mm round bases.
I haven't played Heavy Gear in almost a decade, but I remember them being on hex bases. Are the new rules moving to round bases instead?
