Dose of fluff for those who read these things.
After Earth returned in the space over the great trench that was the only livable center for humans to exist on Caprice, the corporations that governed the planet immediately capitulated rather than face a catastrophic orbital strike.
Having aligned themselves publicly with the Earthers, the corporate security divisions also offered their aid by organizing regiments of their combat mounts. The lightest of these is the Bashan. Although small, it is surprisingly maneuverable thanks to the advanced spike guns in its 'feet', which it uses to scale near-vertical cliffs with ease.
The Bashan has the armament to match a trooper Heavy Gear, but more often it is employed a scout, an electronic warfare platform, or a command and control vehicle.
The Aphek Mount is a slightly upgraded and optimized Mount meant to act as a heavy scout to the Bashan. In its capacity it was intended for crowd control of any worker's riots, but the alteration to lethal weaponry has proven to be easy.
Like all other Mounts it can use its climbing equipment in close-quarters combat to great effect. Its ranged armament includes an assortment of weapons that would normally be found on a heavy trooper Gear such as the Tiger or Sidewinder, but it also includes modular hardpoints for quick refit into a light indirect fire platform. Its primary weapon system is a 25mm rotary cannon that is murderous in its rate of fire.
The Kadesh Mount began its service as a larger, heavier cousin to the Bashan. Since the arrival of Earth, the Kadesh's armament has only grown more lethal. Thicker armor and a robust frame make it the equal of many commando Gears, and a large vertical lift jets utilizing liquid fuel allow it to leap over chasms or unexpected obstacles rivaling the maneuvering capabilities of the Earthers' HT-68 and HT-72 hovertank designs.
The newest support design - aptly dubbed the Support Kadesh - has begun using a particle accelerator matching that of the Earth's light hovertanks, capable of frying the electronic systems on board opposing war machines.
As the Aphek is an improved chassis to the Bashan, so the Meggido is an improvement on the older Kadesh. It shows, too. Improved ballistics computers and targeting programs lend the Meggido an accuracy to its already formidable weapon systems that can be frightening to behold.
If that were not enough, the machine's larger size makes it an absolutely sublime brawler, and stories have begun circulating that the pilots of these machines enjoy getting in close on hapless heavy armor vehicles to employ their spike guns directly into their opponents. The Close Support variant, meanwhile, uses a larger Gatling laser cannon that can spray pinpoint fire onto its opponents.
Aw hell yeah!!
This is a great idea!
