"The BF2-21 was kept as a side project to the original F6-16, but only a short time period after the F6-16 debuted the BF2-21 was brought forward and readily accepted into the ranks. Despite its massive size, the Frame is capable of moving at extremely rapid speeds thanks to its hover/wing-in-ground-effect design and the lighter armor materials that the Earth technicians were able to create.
If there is one thing that is perhaps most unnerving about the BF2-21 it is its tendency to maneuver in formations almost as if it were in lock-step with its fellow Frames. The machines maneuver almost in a human fashion, and to date very few individuals have actually been allowed to see within the cockpits. Specialized technicians are assigned to every Earth force specifically to handle with the B-series Frames, and they are the only ones to handle the interior components. Any unauthorized access or extreme battle damage to the BF2-21 results in a catastrophic self-detonation that renders the machine a useless flaming husk.
The machine is often used as a screen for the hovertanks of the CEF formations, armed with directed-energy laser weaponry and precise munitions that can swiftly turn opponents into so many wrecks."
