Welcome to my KICKSTARTER campaign. My name is Heather Weston. I am a photographer living in New York City. The idea for AT HOME came together out of living in a 450 square foot apartment with my family in Brooklyn. I became intrigued by how other people were doing it. How were they living in their apartments, brownstones, houses? How were they using their space?
I quickly began to formulate the idea of visiting people. Acquaintances, close friends, family members and creating a photographic portrait essay with people I know living together as a family. My plan was to visit one family every week for the whole year! 52 weeks equals 52 families. I completed the task and recorded my results along the way on my blog.
The images from AT HOME were all taken in 2011. Now in March 2014, I have the opportunity to exhibit this work at the Invisible Dog's Glass House in Brooklyn, New York.
AT HOME is about connecting people and exploring the spaces in which we all live. I have some great rewards for all you supporters. The funds raised will be used for printing and framing as many images from the year as possible. Other expenses include preparing the space, hanging the work and promotional materials involved in an exhibition.
REWARDS - A few images from the Heather Weston Greeting Card Collection.
