This pin was designed for those who love lettering.
Whether you are a traditional or modern calligrapher, lettering artist, or just love letters, it's likely you have held some kind of pencil, pen, marker, or crayon in your hand since before you started making memories. Let this pin serve as an expression for your love of lettering!
These letters were handwritten in Neuland Hand—a popular script used by calligraphers. I used a Neuland BigOne marker to write it and embellished it with a ductus.
Offering 2 designs:
Option A: Go Bold! With yellow and red at ~1.5” wide, or
Option B: Be Elegant... with black and silver at ~1” wide
Some of the feedback I have received is that people want to wear the black/silver pin on their suit coat for work. Others want to sport the bright yellow/red pin so they can be seen. Either way, these pins make a statement and would look great dressed up or down. I've also been told that this pin would make a nice gift for a teacher. Because it was probably a teacher who helped you learn how to write!
Every backer will receive a PDF download of my Neuland Hand exemplar. It has been sold at two International Forum of Visual Practitioners conferences, given to participants in my in-person Level Up Your Lettering workshops, and currently sold on Society6 along with other products. Also with every pledge, a link to the "LOVE" letters full-color digital image will be provided. It can be printed or shared digitally with a friend. AND finally, each recipient receives access to free lettering resources to enjoy even more lettering!
Stretch Goal #1
If we can reach $1,000 I will include a spot in the online course: "How to Write Like an Architect" (a $25 value) for everyone who has pledged 3 or more pins ($33 or more). Stretch Goal #2 will be revealed when Stretch Goal #1 is reached. I have 5 stretch goals planned so please share this project with a friend!
Risks and challenges
The design is complete and has been vetted with my networks on social media. Both designs have been accepted and now I would like to appeal to a larger market before investing in the production.
Each enamel pin is a handmade piece of jewelry—which makes them costly to produce. This Kickstarter campaign will allow me to produce a high-quality product without having to shoulder the cost of manufacturing alone. Thank you for your support!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
