Heart to Hands Book and Tree Project
There is a time and a place for everything, and now is the time to work together to strengthen our communities and highlight the good works of one another. It’s important for each of us to know that what we say, and do, really does make a difference!
Eleven years ago I had a vivid dream one night clearly showing me this book and project. A way to highlight the goodness of one another and share easy ways everyone can reach out into the world in kind and actionable steps. A way to show that yes, it is really possible for one person to make a difference.
Heart to Hands was created to help start and spread a movement of goodness for individuals, schools, businesses and communities, no matter where you happen to live. It is a spark to light a fire in everyone who reads it, and a place for not only sharing ideas but encouraging and welcoming new ones.
Today, showing kindness to one another is more important than ever.
Now that the book is complete, the real work begins to kick off the project and create a movement highlighting how the good acts of individuals can encourage the unfolding of even more goodness than we could possibly imagine.
The "Tree Project" provides a simple way to start the much needed conversations with our community groups, place of work and most importantly with our leaders of tomorrow. This project provides a tangible tool for teachers to use in a classroom to have ongoing discussions to teach children the importance of being kind to one another and the beauty of people working together in a positive and supportive way.
By helping us bring the tree project to life and sponsoring classrooms in as many places as possible, you are joining in this movement and helping us highlight the true nature of humanity. The nature of belonging, of being apart of something bigger than us, to make a difference!
We want to help teachers start the conversation with their classes and inspire students to start reaching out into their communities in a positive way. Helping them to build bridges between communities and understand the importance and impact of kind actions is how we hope to help shape today's youth into tomorrow's leaders.
As participants complete an action, they place a seeded heart leaf onto the tree. When the tree is complete, the leaves can be planted to grow flowers and beautify the community. This provides an opportunity for teachers to begin a conversation with their classrooms about the importance of reaching out into our communities in a positive manner and a fun tool to show off their students efforts.
Our goal first and foremost is to foster strong communities through kind actions and honest conversation as outlined in the Heart to Hands book.
The initial funding will allow us to go beyond the publication of the book and bring the tree project to life. It will allow for the printing of the classroom posters, the plantable hearts and will also be used to start a media tour in our first city. Our goal is to have community events in at least 10 cities across America. At each event we will hand out the "Tree Project" and book to local classrooms, highlight the goodness being done in that city, and help people connect to growing the good works in each area.
We also believe that bringing a community event to cities across America keeps the conversation fresh and alive. We will be tracking and sharing our experiences as we move from city to city. We have highlighted the cities we have earmarked to launch the tour and are open to other cities.
Here's a visual breakdown of some of the rewards you can get when you back the Heart to Hands Movement!
As we continue the Heart to Hands Tour through the winter and spring of 2019, you will receive regular email updates as we travel to new cities.
Let's start a movement like no other and help empower and strengthen one another and our communities at the same time!
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Risks and challenges
I've done what I can to minimize risk. The book and the tools for the kits are complete and ready to go. My professional team of printers, designers and editors have been great and are on stand by to print and assemble materials for our first goal and to hit our stretch goals. The challenge for me is to get the entire national tour pledged in our stretch goals. A stretch goal I feel very deeply about, 200 schools, it is a great start to make this bigger than we can imagine! In my heart of hearts I am truly grateful for all of the support I have received thus far on this project and I look forward to the support in bringing it to life!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
