About this project
What's The Story?
Based on a short story by Laura van den Berg, published in The Best American Non-Required Reading 2008.
Jean is a failed actor who has taken a job as a Bigfoot impersonator at a recreation park in California. Jean spends her downtime with Jimmy, a lover who's fast succumbing to lung cancer. As the story continues and Jimmy's time ticks away, their relationship becomes more complicated and Jean wonders about her commitment.
How Are We Doing It?
At the end of July our small production crew will begin filming the 20-page script in Palo Alto California and the surrounding area. We will be shooting on a Canon 5D and Canon T2i. On completion the film will be submitted to festivals.
What The Money Is For?
- Props and Set Dressing
- Transportation for Actors and Crew
- Lighting Equipment
Can We Exceed The Goal?
Yes! This would truly be amazing. Exceeding our goal would allow us to make a better movie. Kickstarter will allow us to retain all funds donated before the deadline. We have tried to set our goal at a realistic level so if we were able to exceed it, it would be a dream come true and allow us to rent better equipment, and increase our overall production values.
Can I Increase My Pledge After I've Made It?
Yes! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.
What Happens If The Money Isn't Raised In Time?
If our goal isn’t met before the deadline, we get no money even if we’re only a few dollars short! We want to avoid this scenario at all costs!
