Hello. My name is Jason, and I'm a designer. The intention of this print is to carefully document all the most popular types of whiskey from around the world. Many people know the mainstream brands/distilleries, but don't know how they all work together. For centuries, these popular spirits have continued to evolve into the wide variety currently available. This flow chart brings a clear hierarchy to the drams (small glasses of whiskey) we all know and love.
This collection acknowledges the twelve most prominent kinds of whiskey. Many countries distill certain types of whiskey, which will all be represented accordingly. Additionally, each country's history will be remembered in a brief but meaningful narrative.
In addition to the elements found on the original 'Beer Diagram', we've included an index of common whiskey glasses as well as a brief whiskey terminology section.
Whiskey or Whisky.
We've solved the whiskey / whisky dilemma, at least for now. Depending upon which part of the world the whiskey is produced, the spelling differs slightly. In an effort to appease both worlds, we are offering another version that spells the word as a lot of the world recognizes. There's a great article here that explains more about the history. Either way, we've got you covered.
After having so much interest in the Beer Diagram, I had a number of people inquire about a Whiskey Diagram. The original Beer Diagram was funded last year, right here on Kickstarter. I've taken the past few months to research, sketch and slowly build the perfect Whiskey Diagram. It's my intention to bring their story to life while celebrating their unique history.
Here's the two side by side, so you can see the effort that went into being sure these would compliment one another.

Risks and challenges
I've completed a number of successful projects here on Kickstarter. After years of testing shipping, production, logistics processes, etc - I believe we've finally discovered a process that works. We are confident that we have everything in place to create another successful project.
Some of the items that have been adjusted along the way:
We've continued to test different inks - we now have a custom blended ink that will outlive us. We've continued to test shipping methods - we now use a larger diameter heavy-weight tube with secured ends to assure protection. The list goes on. The bottom line is, we've taken the feedback from each project and made necessary adjustments to be sure that you're backing something worth while.
