Want Big City Prints? Check out all the cities at cratestyle.com
As you might already know, the original City Prints project was completed over a year ago here on Kickstarter. The original project was created to pay tribute to some of the greatest cities out there as well as the specific places that make them so well noted. After receiving such great feedback, I had a number of people ask about getting larger prints. I've spent the last year researching to see how to make this possible - and here we are.
Where Did This Come From?
After traveling to these cities, I began to take time to reflect on what made them so memorable. These prints culminate some of the most iconic places in the world. In addition, the skylines of each city have been added to show just how authentic each city truly is.
What's The Project?
I'm here to ask for your support in bringing the next generation of City Prints to life. I want people to be able to celebrate their love for their city in a big way. Each of the cities will need to be redesigned to allow for the crystal-clear large-scale prints. (Want more geeky info? I originally built each of the cities as a raster file. So when you blow it up into the large size I'm proposing, you end up with a terribly blurry mess. I will need to recreate each city from scratch as a vector file. This means you can blow it up as large as you want and still maintain a razor-sharp print in the end.)
The prints will be available for the following cities: New York City, Seattle, Boston, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, London & Paris.
New Cities Added: Dubai, Toronto, Montreal, Washington DC, San Diego, Vancouver, Cincinnati, Austin, Pittsburgh and Seoul.
Additionally, I plan to release the cities by popular vote right here, just like I did in the original project. For each $500 that's raised, I will select the city with the most votes and create it. I've already started with the first 10 cities, just like I did in the original project. You don't need to support the project in order to vote for your city...although I recommend you do. Don't see your city? No problem, send me a message and I'll be happy to add it to the list.
The original City Prints have been shared among 1,000's of people all over the world. In addition, they've been featured in a number of shops, shows, websites and just about anywhere else that people gather. Help me bring this collection to life, with a new big size.

What Else Is New?
The color. Another overwhelming question I received was about getting the prints in Black. So, to quote Henry Ford "You can have any colour as long as it's black." I think this will help streamline the process as well as keep costs down. I think the colors were good for the original prints, as these were intended to be simple (yet sophisticated) wall art. These Big City Prints, however, are going to be made to show your city in a big way. I'm thinking of these more as an "Urban Billboard". These beasts are going to be made to fill a room with a rich urban culture - not framed and placed safely in corner somewhere (we have the original City Prints for that).
I have the utmost confidence that if the project is funded, I will be able to have these ready for shipping in early December - so it's just in time for the holidays!
Big City Print: 36" X 54" (914.4mm X 1,371.6mm) Printed on Super Heavyweight 10.3 mil Premium Enhanced Matte Finish Paper. Signed & Numbered. Printed in Black.
Technology: I will be creating these one-by-one using a professional giclée process. This is the same printing process used by the finest art galleries around the world. I will be using high-quality Pigment-based ink made right here in the USA. This allows me to produce truly authentic museum-quality prints.
Risks and challenges
My intention is to create prints that will inspire pride for the places we all love. I've spent the past year in search of the highest quality paper, ink, shipping materials and processes available. I'm confident that I will be able to create something we'll all be proud to be a part of.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
