Dear Friends, Family & Fans:
Thank you for taking interest in this project, and putting up with this goofball! (Song titles referenced in video are listed below). These songs really do mean a lot to me, and my goal with this Kickstarter campaign is to set them up for success.
I believe the best way to get this album out into the world is to work with a publicist, invest in high quality merchandise, & tour extensively. All of these different parts are set in motion, and I am fortunate to have a great team of people around me who will help make this dream a reality.
Many of you helped me cover the cost of production with my first album, King Solomon, and I continue to be deeply grateful. One of the most valuable lessons I learned from that record is how essential it is to invest in promotion. And so with my new album, Forgive the Birds, I need your help getting the word out there.
Here is an estimate of costs associated with my goals:
Publicity & Promotion: 7,500 (Press campaign, artwork, photography, posters & web design)
Merchandise & Packaging: 2,400 (Take a look at the rewards to see what we have up our sleeves!)
Tour Expenses: 2,100 (Help get me road worthy! Booking/Management & gear)
Meet the team:
I am working with Chris West from The Cottage Collective to manage & book 2 tours, one in February from Boston to Kansas City for Folk Alliance International, and my first ever national tour in May.
I am launching a publicity campaign with The Press House in Nashville to help get the word out there! Check them out here: http://www.thepresshouse.com/

If I Reach
Risks and challenges
Investing in music as a career is, in and of itself, a risk & it is certainly full of challenges. Obstacles come in many shapes & sizes- many from without, and even more from within. If it's not crippling self doubt, it's questions like "What if critics hate it? What if no one comes to my shows? What if my car dies?" that keep me up at night.
Pursuing music has taught me the art of balancing careful planning with improvisation. I have spent the last 2 years getting these songs to sound exactly the way I want them to, seeking advice people who have experience, and surrounding myself with a team of knowledgable & enthusiastic people. I readily admit there is so much I don't know. But what I do know is that I have prepared as much as I can, this album is ready to hatch & I need your help to make it fly.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
