We’ve brought “Platoon of Power Squadron” to Kickstarter to appeal to our fans, old and new, for help in producing "PoPS, Episode 5." We know a lot of folks can’t wait for the next episode of PoPS, so in order to get the show to you faster, we finally have something you can do to help. Namely, donate! (If you're not already familiar with PoPS, you can find episodes and information here: www.youtube.com/pineappleboyfilms)
With your donation, we’ll not only be able to offer some payment to our dedicated actors and crew, but we’ll also be able to give you guys exclusive PoPS gifts, while bringing Episode 5 to the web-waves much, much faster. Really, it's a triple win!
From PoPS Creator/Director Jake Jarvi's Blog:
“Our episodes are about a half hour long, and with our day jobs, and the fact that it’s an effects show (and we’re doing all the effects ourselves), it takes roughly six months to complete an episode… We know there’s a substantial audience waiting for the next episode, and with that comes a heightened awareness of time passing since the last episode… I wish these things could come together faster, but we’re a really small group of people and we’re pushing ourselves harder with every episode.”
Funding for PoPS, Episode 5 will allow us to distribute responsibilities amongst our talented crew, taking a large part of the production burden off of Jake’s overworked shoulders. You know, like the Beatles said, we’ll "get by with a little help from our friends.”
We feel confident that our dedicated PoPS fans will come together to support our cause. Though our target amount meets a fraction of our time and overall production expenses, every dollar donated does make a difference to the future of PoPS. If we're lucky, and additional donations are raised exceeding our goal, we'll roll that support over to help produce subsequent episodes of PoPS.
Those of us who work on PoPS can’t thank all of you enough for watching and supporting us, and PoPS for the last two years. Our audience is incredible and you’re the reason we keep going.
“We don’t make a living producing “Platoon of Power Squadron,” Jake wrote this past September, deep in the throes of post-production for episode 4, "but we do have a loyal audience, and that’s worth an awful lot.” If you love our show, as we love our audience, make a donation and join us in supporting the production of PoPS!
