Apologies for double posting. I bought my Griz Coat with the expectation of taking it to Burning Man. Any idea when the $250 backers will receive their coats? Thank you!

Good question about cleaning! I just posted a response in our project's FAQs in case anyone else is wondering the same thing.

Wore my coat to a baseball game last week and it was a massive hit. Not only did it keep me comfortable and warm in the chilly san francisco air but it was also very light weight/easy to manage. The quality of this coat is exceptional and the white foam under the head is not noticeable. It's a non-issue. Just ask the 30+ people I stopped and took pictures with at the baseball game. Not a single person had anything bad to say about the coat. Nothing but love for this product.

Brady - Thanks for the encouragement. No need to check the site everyday...we're definitely not that exciting! You'll get all of our updates by email when we have them. So sit tight; you'll be a Grizangster soon!

      Dear, people making my coat.

So there is only a week and a half until the estimated delivery of the $250 level. I have been checking up on this site everyday since I became backer and there hasn't been an update for about two weeks. What's up? Sounds like the first production run wasn't as good as expected. You guys received over 29 grand for your 2.5 grand goal. Let's step it up.

      Sincerely, A very hopeful Grizangster

Tried mine out today and it scared my cat sh#tless! :D I kind of agree about the white foam but my solution will probably just be to add some lining to it. Please share any other useful mods you come up with!

The White foam looks ugly and the cloth makes my skin feel itchy.. not worth $200 for such quality.

for the second batch it would be cool if the inside of the griz coat had some stealth pockets!

    13. jey47key on July 7, 2012

      i got mine today (France)!
i agree with Derek about the white foam thing
and with Daniel about the smell & sheds hair

    14. Wilhelm Svenselius on July 7, 2012

Hey - any updates on international orders? I'm a $200 backer but I didn't get mine yet. I understand int'l shipping takes longer, but a status update would be nice :)

    15. Derek Eclavea on July 6, 2012

Literally just got mine about 10 minutes ago. Looks great, although the one complaint I have is the color of the foam on the underside of the head. In the video it shows up as black/brownish, but here it's just bare white foam.

Here's my feedback... Overall about what I expected, the things I could see being improved:
      - The thing smells like chemicals and sheds hair everywhere when it comes out of the box (both are still true to a smaller degree, I honestly get a little dizzy)
      - The inside is rather scratchy if you're wearing it say with a short sleeve shirt, I'm probably going to put a lining in mine
      - The collar is strangely low

Michael - length of delivery time is pretty location-specific, but the we expect all $200 backers to have their coats by the end of next week.

    21. Michael Irvin on June 26, 2012

Any news on when these will ship? I'm so excited to receive mine, I feel like a kid at Christmas.

Jake - good news is that our survey is OK, and better news is that you're still getting a t-shirt in addition to your coat! All reward tiers $25 and higher automatically get a t-shirt. Sorry for the confusion...the t-shirt note is kind of buried toward the end of the reward description.

    26. Jake Bronstein on May 24, 2012

Griz: I got the survey asking for t-shirt size, but I'm a $300 all white coat backer... just sayin'. Yesterday the project I'm hosting had survey issues too. Humm...

Not yet Michael. We may be sending out the survey later this week to collect addresses. Kickstarter recommends we send the survey out as close as possible to the shipment date, since it reduces the chance that a reward is misdelivered due to people moving to a new address.

    29. Michael Irvin on May 21, 2012

Has anyone received the address confirmation e-mail yet?

My suggestions for the second batch of Griz Coats:
Attach the head to the coat.
      Better claws.
Make the head more realistic. (nose, ears, eyes)
      More teeth.
      Fur Sure

    33. Glenn K Graham on April 21, 2012

Someone needs to stalk Ted Nugent wearing a Griz coat !!

    34. See Wen Loong on April 20, 2012

Will the $200pledge backers get a photoshop portrait of you wearing a Griz Coat before we get the coat ?

    35. NoahGenda on April 19, 2012

Well, I can guarantee at least one of these will be spotted in the wild at Burning Man.

    36. Baseballism LLC on April 18, 2012

If I see a polar coat walking down the street I'm taking it down in my griz coat. That's how griz's roll. It's a life style.

Do u have a picture of how the polar bear coat will look like ? Eg , drawing

How will we wash the coat, is it dry clean only? Also, I'm 5'5, I assume this won't be a problem (the tail ends won't be dragging on the floor?)

    43. Wilhelm Svenselius on April 9, 2012

Hey! I already pledged $200 for my own Griz coat, but can you estimate what the shipping cost to Sweden will be? Can't wait to scare the shit out of our regular boring Swedish bears...

Both good questions, Chris. The hood/head will be attached to the coat with dark brown leather lace (not visible on the exterior of the coat). As for the interior, there is no lining. Thanks!

Minh, sizing for this project will be one size fits all. We tested the product on adults ranging from 5' 6" to 6' 3", and the coat fit quite well. Cheers!
