LOST: 5 REELS OF 35MM FILM, ENTITLED "HEARTS AND CASH".

IF FOUND: PLEASE RETURN TO EGYPTIAN THEATER IN DOWNTOWN PARK CITY.

REWARD: NONE, UNLESS WE WIN THE NARRATIVE COMPETITION. BECAUSE WE ARE BROKE.

Murphy's Law states: Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. That's exactly what happens to four creative young people in their quest to premiere their movie at Sundance: Joey, the wildly ambitious Director of the compelling Indie favorite "Hearts and Cash"; Hannah, the zealous Producer; Jill, the rising star with a superiority complex; and Dave, Joey's best friend whose loyalty lies in helping the filmmakers in any way, as long as he can occasionally chase older women.

The journey begins in a beat-up hybrid car with a faulty gas gauge, as our team faces many obstacles and must find affordable solutions on a very limited budget. When they finally arrive, the team meets a handful of ridiculous characters and get themselves into trouble when too much free alcohol lands them at a wild party. Joseph wakes up in the morning to find that the film is missing, and must tear Dave away from an intense game of RISK and rouse Hannah from her slumber inside a nacho-filled bathtub to re-trace the highly intoxicated steps taken the night before and find the missing film print in time for their screening.

Where IS the film? Did they leave it in the cab? Did the boyfriend of the MILF that Dave seduced steal it? Did Josephs arch-nemesis from film school take it to kill the competition? And where the hell is Jill?

The makers of the film about film-making need your help! Our Teaser Trailer gives you the highlights of the film as it has been shot so far. However, principal photography has begun on a very limited budget, and we have only shot half of the film. We are reaching out to our friends, fellow artists, and lovers of funny movies to help us finish shooting and editing the film. Your generous contribution will go towards location fees, equipment rental, and post production/ finishing.

FAQ

  • Our goal is the Sundance submission deadline of August 31, 2012! We're aiming to have a finished film (with completed score, color, sound design and titles).

We will email all of you when we have our first screening...the world premiere!

UPDATE: As of 8/10/12, we'll have our first pass of color and sound design. The end is in sight!

  • The film has wrapped shooting and editing, and we have enough left in our budget to finish sound design, music, and color correction.

HOWEVER! We need more funding to afford the submission fees, which can be as much as $100 just for one festival (and that one film festival could make all the difference for Park City's future). If you would like to contribute additional funding or know anyone who would like to donate (and receive an IMDB credit in return), please have them email TheSirenChoir@gmail.com.
