2019 has begun, and we’re hard at work on Aeon’s End! The Alpha testing team has begun putting the engine through its paces and much of the content is implemented and into testing. Since most of the work at this point is in the engine, there’s not a lot to show you that isn’t text-based, but we’ll be keeping you updated every couple weeks so stay tuned. We’d also like to hear from you about what you might like to see covered on future development streams. Comment below with ideas!

Stretch Goal Update

As of this morning, there have been more than $1750 worth of add-ons ordered via BackerKit. That puts us within $250 of the first new mage at $2000! All add-ons other than The Nameless expansion count towards this goal, as well as pre-orders so if you have friends that missed out on the Kickstarter, let them know that their pre-order can still help bring new playable characters to the game.

You can also add-on additional Steam keys for yourself if you want to give the gift of Aeon’s End to the deck-building fans in your life. Pre-orders save $4 off the retail price of the game, plus all add-on Steam keys and pre-orders will get the game as soon as it goes into Steam Early Access sometime in the next few months.

Just $250 to the first new breach mage!

The Nameless

As of this morning, 802 people have pre-ordered The Nameless expansion. That’s 42% of the total number of copies that need to be ordered to get the expansion onto the development schedule. We always knew this experiment would be a “stretch” in the truest sense of the word, but there’s still plenty of time to pre-order. Tell your friends to pre-order The Nameless today!

I so hope we get the expansion for more content. The more content the better the game.

I'm a $1 mobile backer and I have read the updates and FAQ's so I understand that purchasing mobile "keys" is not possible. If a method ever becomes available so that I could pre-order the game and expansions for the mobile platform I plan to play it on, I would do so in a heartbeat. I have Steam, but I find that I never play there. So, I don't want to buy it twice just to help get it made. I would certainly pay once to get it on the platform I plan to play it on though.

John Arnold: Thanks! That clarifies things. I totally get paying for the base game separately for different platforms, and backed this realizing I would have to do that in order to help get it made for mobile where I intend to play. Even using something like Unity things don’t ‘just’ port.

I don’t know the development effort required to make expansions cross-platform once the initial development is complete, and in the case of dlc that part is often cross platform - then again, that is mostly from big companies. So it was worth checking :)

I’ll wait a bit to decide whether to preorder the expansion as that is getting to be pretty expensive even by my standards if I’m only playing on iOS at what... $24 USD plus the cost of the iOS app and the cost of the iOS dlc.

Still, I get it, and Apple’s policies aren’t Handelabra’s fault!

Thanks for pointing me at the relevant info.

      Happy new year from Gravehold?
      Really?
I'd think that Gravehold would be a singularly awful place to be working on game development!

tl;dr - recommend you relocate to somewhere less post-apocalyptic.

@Dice - A purchase of one of our games is good on the store where you made your purchase and does not transfer to other stores. You can read more on our FAQ here: http://handelabra.com/faq

Regarding expansion preorders: will DLC be cross-platform?

I pledged for the steam version plus $1 for mobile. Since I will be purchasing for iOS as well, and that will be the platform I mostly game on, I’m not sure I want to preorder The Nameless and end up purchasing that twice as well.

      Thanks!
