Hi and thanks for checking out our project. We are passionate about design, and work in this field every day. We’re so happy with the way halopad turned out, because we believe it’s the perfect blend of form and function. It’s been a long and winding road to get here, but now with your help, we would love to turn our idea into reality.
We designed the halopad with simplicity and ease of use in mind, and we’re sure you will find it just as useful as we have. We have been testing it over the last months, and compared to other stands, we find it is just better in so many ways.
It is stable: the low center of gravity and the precise off-set of the holding slots mean it will never tip over or wobble around like many other stands. It performs particularly well on soft or uneven surfaces. Because of its round shape, halopad fits better on your lap, on sofa cushions or on top of bed sheets.
It is beautiful: One of the things that really annoy us about other stands:
they are plain ugly. When using the halopad, it’s barely there, doesn't get in the way and almost seems to disappear.
It is easy to use: A two year old can use it without difficulty, and you can easily switch from one position to another with just one hand. Having 5 different positions, you can adapt the viewing angle depending on what you are doing. For example: 45 degree landscape mode is ideal for typing and won’t strain your wrists, 18 degree portrait mode is perfect for reading a book. What ever you do, the halopad quickly adapts.
It is light and portable: halopadweighs 10 ounces, that´s around 280 grams, which is just the right weight to help make it stable, but light enough to carry around. It’s easy to take halopad with you from one room to another, from the kitchen to the pool, or even to the other side of the planet.
It is virtually indestructible: Made from a high grade composite, the material has a hard-soft feel that gently grips your tablet, so it will never slide out, and it’s soft enough so it doesn't scratch your iPad's surfaces. The halopad logotype is integrated into the bottom of the device and serve as feet that concentrate the downward force to provide anti-slip effect.
Not just for iPad: halopad will work with most current tablets as long as they are less than 0.4 of an inch or 10 mm thick at the edge.
So now we need your help. We are really excited to get this project into production and with your support we can bring halopad to you worldwide. So far we did all the prototyping and tested various materials, not to forget those countless hours of blood, sweat and tears ;-)
NOW IT´S READY TO GO.
Your contribution will help us to get the injection moulds made and finance factory production. halopad will be made by an injection moulding process, and though it is a simple shape we need a special sliding mould to make the slots into the device. We have tendered the project for manufacture in the US and with enough backers we would love to produce it here. We also need to factor in all the warehouse, and handling costs which people forget is often one of the most expensive parts of getting a product to market.
As soon as we reach our goal, we will start production and deliver
to you this summer, expected early August.
