A New Year's Status Report
Greetings, travelers! Ken and I would like to wish all of our backers a happy new year, and we hope your holiday season went well. It’s been a bone chilling Winter so far for both Ken and Chicago and Hal in Washington DC, but that just means it’s time to stay in where it’s nice and warm and get down to the serious business of weird cosmic horror.
Step by Step, Inch by Inch...
While we’re still in the early stages of the production of The Destinations and the expanded The Tales, things are moving forward. The main tasks at hand for Ken are the business of doing the reading and research necessary for the Lovecraftian that lies ahead for him. If you know anything about Ken, you know the acquisition of books is playing a large role in this. Over the last few months, he’s laid his hands on Annotated Critical Edition of Fungi from Yuggoth, the Lovecraft-Smith correspondence, and a collection of Mariconda's essays on HPL, among other divers and curious volumes. Hal is deep in the search for the right artists for the new interior pieces for both of the TDL books, and the luggage labels, as well as formalizing all the specs for the eventual physical books as much as is possible at this point.
There’s a lot to do over the next 6 months or so, and I’ve set up a Google Sheet for tracking our progress on each of the many components of the final books. You all can check it out here:
Once we get into the actual production phase later in the year, I’ll add some milestones for the printing process, the production of the Globetrotter Editions, etc. For now, this should cover most of the things we have going on for Tour de Lovecraft.
Do you have any friends that missed out on the TDL Kickstarter, and would still like to get in on the project before it’s finally released? Just point them to the Atomic Overmind Store, where they can still get a good deal on the books, and get in on some of the KS exclusive goodies through BackerKit later this year. All the information on that can be found here:
