About this project
We've spent a year shooting and editing a cross-country documentary. It's been accepted into film festivals across America and people are genuinely excited about it. We've called in a million favors to get the film to this point on a miniscule budget, but in order to distribute our 79 minute feature on DVD, we need to clear a much higher hurdle with expensive color correction and music licensing. The subject (and star?) of the film, Dolly Parton, has cleared 15 of her hits for us and we've licensed them for one year of festival rights; the biggest single expense of the production. Now, in order to take Hollywood to Dollywood to a broader audience, we'll need to raise $20k from smart, kind, enthusiastic people like you.
You'll have to watch the movie!
There really wasn't one, to speak of. We rented an RV, paid for the gas, and ate a lot of hot dogs on the cross-country trip. Most of the money we've spent has been in post, especially for the festival rights to all the music.
Gary and Larry went on ABC's Wipeout and won. Every time they endured a painful slam, they chalked it up to a different cue in the movie: "Ow, that one was for "Coat of Many Colors", "Ouch, that one was for "Jolene".
