WHAT IS METAWEAR C?
MetaWearC is a tiny, coin-cell powered, Bluetooth Low Energy Sensor Platform with an SDK.
Our complete low-power solution is designed to develop wearable and sensor tech solutions.
This module packs a robust set of features into its tiny size that are ideal for "always-on" applications such as social media, sports, and fitness activities.
WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE?
MetaWearC works for a broad range of form factors such as rings, bags, bracelets, pendants, e-textiles, even Nerf footballs!
Our module runs for extended periods from a coin-cell battery and features motion sensors (gyroscope and accelerometer), a Bluetooth radio, and an LED.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You focus on the App, we take care of the rest. Our mobile SDKs expose all the sensors and peripherals in an intuitive way, so your App can easily:
- Read temperature data
- Notify me on freefall
- Log gyroscope data at 800Hz
- Stream accelerometer data at 200Hz
- Sound an alarm when a button is pressed
- Adjust the volume of your Bluetooth speaker when the MetaWear is shaken
- and infinitely more!
We have several open source examples Apps to get your started:
Best of all, MetaWear C can be updated and programmed wirelessly by any Bluetooth Smart device. This means you will always be up to date with our latest MetaWear OS enhancements and bug-fixes.

THE METAWEAR STORY
This team of renegade engineers wanted to change the world of Bluetooth. We’ve been building consumer devices for years and have been a major developer of BLE since its inception.
After we successfully delivered our first campaign, MetaWear, ahead of schedule, we listened to our amazing users. With your ideas, feedback, and our learnings, we made an improved coin cell version, which we are super excited to share with the community.
Using the user feedback from our first product, we've transformed and improved the original MetaWear platform in just about every way; the tiny form factor is now even smaller, power consumption has been reduced, and we've optimized it to run on a single coin cell battery that doesn't need to be replaced for months!
Risks and challenges
We've brought you MetaWear before and we will do it again. Our first campaign was not only successfully funded but it was delivered early!
There are always significant challenges in manufacturing and delivering any hardware product at scale. Fortunately, we've have been working hard and have established relationships with manufacturing partners in the US that will help us bring Metawear to your doorstep.
Of course, there are still risks associated with producing the Metawear board. Unexpected changes in component lead times, availability, and cost are examples of factors outside our direct control that could affect our delivery timeline, but we are working hard to mitigate those risks and plan to be transparent throughout the delivery process.
The other risk with this and any other project that involves physical delivery comes with shipping. There are a number of unforeseen circumstances that can cause problems during the actual physical shipping of the Metawear boards. We plan to work with proven companies to help ensure that MetaWear Coin arrives (in perfect condition) at their delivery destination. Since unforeseen circumstances can sometimes impact the shipping world, we will also make sure to have methods/resources in place to overcome any difficulties.
