The short answer is that Spirit Island is a very art and development intensive game. Jagged Earth has been in development for over a year, and we have now gotten to the point where almost all of the content is locked down (i.e., we know which spirits and adversaries it will contain, and we have the vast majority of powers, events, scenarios, etc. locked). However, we only just started commissioning art, since the spirits and powers need to be locked down before we can do that. We also have a few more months of polishing and fine-tuning of all of the different parts to make sure the game is balanced and that everything works well together. Once the campaign ends, we'll keep you updated monthly on art and development progress!
