The story reinforces a beautiful message that we are all different!
Ever since I can remember, I have always made up poems and told completely crazy stories to any child that would listen. In 2002, my first daughter Frances was born and then the fun really began!!! In 2012, my second daughter Jessica was born. Perfect, loud, bubbly girls, we would make up funny rhymes, sing songs and create some of the silliest bed time stories.
In 2016, everything changed when an tragic accident at home took Jessica from us. I then found writing was one of the only ways I could even begin to get through some of the tougher days and then the stories just grew...
In the weeks after Jessica passed away, many parents and teacher's visited us, all with stories about how Jessica would look after other children in her class and always make sure the other children were not left alone or picked on. Some of the stories were so beautiful that I began to write them down and realised she had left us a beautiful chance to go on an adventures and to learn about the world through the innocent eyes of a child.
There are so many experiences that we wish we could have had with Jessica and being able to take her on adventures with Frances and introduce them both to new animals, foods and people is a fitting way to let Jessica live on and have some fun too!
Have You Ever Seen A Grolar Bear? is the first book in a series of 12 rhyming children's books aimed at helping children understand the world through fun, fully illustrated rhyming stories.
The series will follow Frances and Jessica around the world through beautiful hand drawn illustrations whilst the fun rhyming stories will teach children about being confident, unique, sharing and looking out for each other.
