Day 30 - Last Stretch Goal Unlocked with 24 hours to go - Creative Commons License release!

Hey gang,

Congratulations! You unlocked the final Stretch Goal for ZWEIHÄNDER Grim & Perilous RPG! This means we're releasing the work under the Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License. You will be free to copy, share, and remix the text within the book under the following conditions:

  • you do so only for noncommercial purposes;
  • you attribute Grim & Perilous Studios;
  • you license any derivatives under the same license.

This means you can create your own version of ZWEIHÄNDER, and share it with the public for non-commercial purposes. We're going to talk internally about how we can finesse this model to make it completely "community-forward". One idea was to have a wiki on our home website where new rules can be collected and saved. Another was to help new writers publish their work underneath the Grim & Perilous Studios banner. More details will be revealed in the coming months.

Do you have ideas on how you'd like to see this play out? Let us know in the comments below!

      Any idea what I should add to shipping to ship to Australia?

      Oh, and I can't stress that enough: woooohoooo, an RPG in the CC-domain! \o/

      Also, please specify precisely how attribution should be given in which context.

      Please give very clear guidelines about how to use which terms. Even if the text is CC, I guess you'll want to protect the "Zweihänder" name, I guess? Specifically, two scenarios should be covered: 1) creating extensions to Zweihänder and 2) creating material for Zweihänder. For instance, can we use "Zweihänder" if we publish an adventure? I guess the policies will differ between CC-NC-SA and commercial content.

      "rules-only document in an editable format"
      .
      If you don't 'lock' the art free PDF, we would be able to copy and paste stuff from it.

      @Mitch A. Williams absolutely! We'll have more information following the Kickstarter on how we intend to handle this.

      This is fantastic news! Would you consider releasing a rules-only document in an editable format?

      I second Mitch's query.

      There will still be a way for people to make comercial products like scenarios and campaigns?

      Sounds like a good step towards Fantasy Grounds compatibility =P

      This was probably the biggest thing I wanted from the kickstarter. :)

      I'd love an official Wiki with breakdowns of 'Official' content, and Jimmy's ZHammer, and etc etc.

      That way anyone who wants to can add things that the rest of us can see & use, including modules, conversions of famous modules from all games, adaptations to worlds we love.

      Break down by rules set, settings, and tools at least.
