Beautiful book well worth the wait

    2. Daniel Fox Creator on

So far, so good! Books are popping up all over: Canada, Mexico, Finland, Poland, Australia, Germany and all across the UK. Be sure to email me if you didn't get a tracking ID yet. Don't message me here on Kickstarter, as I am more responsive by email during work hours.

Only a few reports of damaged books (one was water-logged, one was completely crushed). If you have experienced significant damage to your book during transit, you can make a claim with the USPS. This may vary by country, but this is as much info as I can ascertain:

You must immediately present the article, mailing container, wrapping, packaging, and any other contents received in damaged condition and/or with missing contents to a Post Office™ for inspection. The Post Office will verify the damage and give you a PS Form 3831, Receipt for Article(s) Damaged in Mails, for your files.

My copy just arrived, West Yorkshire UK.

Box was a bit dented and crushed, there has been some minor crushing to the bottom corners of the book and a small scuff near the bottom of the spine that has lifted the matte laminate unfortunately.
Only minor cosmetics really, still a beautiful book.

A little worried about my friends copy though, he had it shipped to my address, his box looks in a worse state than mine was, will find out when he opens it this weekend.

    4. Balgin Stondraeg

My book arrived here today in England in good condition. All's well :).

    5. Balgin Stondraeg

Glad to know people are receiving their copies already. I'm still waiting for any sort of notification here.

    6. Drew

Most important in all this I got my massive sword here in the UK. I call that a win :). Books will be here soon.

    7. Necrozius on

      Cool I'll try that! Thanks

    8. Daniel Fox Creator on

I do this with all my books with ribbons. I used a tongue depressor and slather a generous amount of fast-drying superglue over the stick, open up the book halfway, stand it on its spine and rub it over the ribbon where it butts against the spine backing. Be sure to leave the book open when you do this so that you don't glue the spine down.

    9. Necrozius on

Argh the headband detached from the pages at the top. Any recommendations on how to re-glue it back?

    10. Necrozius on

Got mine here in Ottawa, Canada. Perfect condition: such a beautiful book. Thanks! Looking forward to seeing what else you folks come up with!

Well packed. Received in Canada in perfect shape. Very happy from start to finish. Looking forward to future stuff.

    12. Crimsonsun on

Tracking number received, though I'm not entirely sure of how USPS works in terminology, as my parcel left Heathrow yesterday morning towards my location, but I'm only 70miles from Heathrow so unless they are walking it down the country it should be at the depo by now. I'm sure its just down to it being the weekend or that its in customs at Heathrow and its not left at all.

Must say Daniel I was impressed by how fast it got here that's pretty damn quick! Thanks!

    13. ThimGrim on

I got mine tracking number and Zweihander is going really fast, some spell probably. Starting next week I will probably have it in my home.

How can we redownload the Crowdox files? Links dont work currently :)

    15. Daniel Fox Creator on

What I can tell you is that the books were put back on pallets and moved across Chicago to a new distribution center, where they will tag the books for mailing. I'll have firmer details Tuesday or Wednesday. The extended Labor Day weekend throws off a lot of businesses here in the US because it's a bank holiday Monday.

    16. Necrozius on

Has there been a mention as to how long the delay might be? For adjusting the packaging for international backers, I mean.

      Benjamin Brown on

Fair enough. Let's hope it's quicker than a month!

Unfortunately it's too late to change shipping addresses.

Too late to change address for international shipping? I have a surprise interstate move coming up.

    20. Necrozius on

      @ Niels Visser
International shipping has been delayed because the packaging failed it's Toughness check. See the latest update:

    21. Niels Visser on

Is there any update on the international shipping? I (I'm located in Europe) have not received any shipping email yet.

    22. Cameron K Titus on

oh but my name isn't in the back :(

    23. Cameron K Titus on

just got my book today, seems really nice!

    24. Jonathan Mowers

The CrowdOx links seem to be dead, is there another place to re-download the digital files? Had mine on my phone when the disk cleaner got overzealous and nuked them.

    25. Necrozius on

      @Jason N Dennis
Canadian orders are going out at the same time as all other international ones; on Tuesday, Aug. 29th.

    26. DGoth on

This is something that I've started doing consistently with any hardback book I get, particularly ones like this, which require zwei hands to use. I thought it might be helpful to share with others.

I was climbing Mt Rainier when the package arrived, and I finally was able to open it today! Only one ding that I can live with on the bottom edge of the back cover. This is the Pièce de résistance of my collection for sure! Thank you for going that extra bit at the end to make this tome what it is. I cannot wait for your other future plans!

    29. Simon Stroud

Wow! Zweihänder is so massive it bends space and time! Next Tuesday be damned, my order of three awesome books arrived in Melbourne, Australia just now.

A little dinged around the orders and top edge as others have said, but for 16lbs of books shipped at record speed across the globe, I'm ecstatic!

Really looking forward to recreating that early WFRP feeling.

    30. Daniel Fox Creator on

@Fnord Prefect we appreciate it! We're going to give you and other backers a special discount once we are ready for the GM screen and next supplement as a special thank you.

      Fnord Prefect on

I received mine! A tad beat up. Hopefully the bubble wrap will prevent others from having the same problem. While it is beat up enough that I'd ordinarily look to get it exchanged I'd rather spare you guys the expense and put that cash and effort toward the next supplements! It's a beast of a book and I'm glad that I have my copy! Excellent work!

    32. DGoth on

Received yesterday in Chicago. One set of corners on the open side had mild denting, but not bad enough to merit replacement, or even the hassle and expense to ship back. Just a little disappointing start. Note that this was both copies. The shipping box was pretty cheap and beat up.

    33. Gian

      @daniel done and thank you

    34. Daniel Fox Creator on

@Gian that's very unusual. I just checked our remaining stock, and no other books seem to have this issue. Would you mind sending me images of where they seem to be missing at my email address:

    35. Gian

My book appears to be missing chapter 8,it goes from page 224 to page 259.

    36. Brian Isikoff

Mine arrived last night. Damn, this thing is a beast! Very well done - super pleased with the book.

    37. Daniel Fox Creator on

@WhyWorry Maybe! We're focusing on our next supplement now (all the cool stuff we couldn't fit into the core book), but stay tuned.

    38. WhyWorry on

Got my book as well. I've been having a blast going through the classes and getting ready for my own game! Are there other modules for the zweihander system besides the bitter harvest?

    39. NecroNuke9

Just got my book today. I think I can bludgeon someone to death with its size and weight. :) The book is excellent and I love the artwork. I can't help but show it off to everyone I know.

    40. Gilbert Isla

Mine arrived today and it is glorious! But as another has already posted, the corners are all smashed up. The box was just not up to protecting this massive beast of a book!

    41. Necrozius on

EDIT: sorry, missed the part that non-US orders will ship starting on Friday, the 25th.

    42. Necrozius on

Exciting. Anyone in Canada get their email yet?

    43. Nathaniel Borys on

My copy arrived today in NY. The corners are a bit crushed but I expected as much with our post officer here.

    44. Daniel Fox Creator on

Awesome! We would love to see a picture of you and the book for our website. Can you send us one?

      Any news on shipping?

    47. Daniel Fox Creator on

No worries! Technically, you should only have access to two files (the latest v4), but there's a weird bug in DTRPS's system we brought to their attention a few months ago that still lingers.

Like I said over at DTRPG, if you or anyone else runs into any issues, always feel free to reach out to me direct - I will get you sorted!

    48. Keegan Fink

thanks for the help, apologies for the caps -- the information was quite confusing at first regarding which set of files were the most recent on drivethru, and it wasn't clear at first from the errata page whether the latest info was integrated into the PDFs currently hosted.

again, sorry - - just got frustrated; thanks for the info

    49. Daniel Fox Creator on

@Keegan Fink all caps are unnecessary. As I indicated over at DTRPG, Errata will be addressed in a future version of the PDF. Errata are changes you will need to import to your own table. Once the hardback is shipped, we will make a handy print-out of all Errata you can stuff into the back of the book.

Otherwise, PDF version control is below the fold on the Errata change. This is currently the only way you can validate your version. Note that versioning didn't start until V4. From the website:

      >>RULES ERRATA Our living errata addresses pesky edits that snuck there way in during production of the hardback book & illustrated PDF. This page also includes ‘versioning’ for our PDFs.<<
