Our debut album will feature works we have commissioned as well as a few others. Hot Work by Olivia Kieffer, Ass-Pants by Erik Kofoed, and New Columbia/Big Bay by John McCowen will be the focus of this CD.
Our rehearsal time together has also enlightened us to new ideas that we want to share in the form of two new method books. The first will include exercises based around quarter-tone fingerings to teach ear-training, increase finger independence, and even let you know when it is time to take your horn to the shop! The second will be a "Buddy System" warm-up book that will improve playing in chamber and ensemble settings, as well as make warming up fun and enjoyable!
We have already fronted costs to record and commission these pieces. In order to get our ideas and music out to the public, we need to purchase materials in order to professionally duplicate our CD as well as bind and publish our two new method books. This includes CDs, CD sleeves, cover art, copying, binding, as well as copyright fees.
Risks and challenges
We have a history of making our dreams happen already. We do all of our booking, marketing, and travel for our rehearsals on a regular basis. Publishing the books and CDs is nothing we can't handle. Although there are unexpected circumstances that may occur in our own lives, we have thought ahead and allotted more than adequate time to complete this project before our September Tour begins.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
