About this project
Thank you for checking out this squeeky clean art project!
We are a team of three collaborating together to bring this clean art vision to you! We are SPƎNGLISH (ñ) a happiness habilitator lifestyle brand, Chris Choi an emerging artist and Veronica Menendez a lover of all things clean and greene. We are called Greene Street NYC and we are a Clean Art movement using REVERSE GRAFFITI.
OUR MISSION: To spread awareness of clean art.
We will do this with NO PAINT by simply cleaning art onto a wall that is on one of the busiest streets of NYC, Houston Street!!
LOCATION: 64 MacDougal building on the wall that faces West Houston St
On a given day in May the main event will take place at the wall on Houston and MacDougal in NYC. Our talented up and coming artist Chris Choi will clean artwork that he creates using the method of REVERSE GRAFFITI onto the wall. With the hope of engaging artists, brands, and passerby's to be a part of a Global Clean Art Movement.
WHAT IS REVERSE GRAFFITI:
This process starts by cutting artwork into stencils, placing the stencils on the wall and cleaning with a power wash the area of the stencil that has the artwork cut out. The exciting part is that we are literally cleaning the wall and leaving behind ART!
Here are pictures of us testing this process to help you further understand how it works:
This kind of art process is much less popular. It is not as easy to find when compared to the more popular but not so clean spray paint street art.
With your help this fascinating and innovative way of expression will be available for all to see and capture the attentions of people throughout the world. Hopefully motivate them to participate in their own community.
WHAT WE WILL PUT ON THE WALL:
We have 3 different artworks ready for their debut on our wall. The first piece will be a car gradually driving from left and turning into a bike on the right, reminding us of the choice we have to use transportation that is not dependant on oil. The second piece is a faucet with dripping water, signaling the importance of our water resources. Our final artwork is a humorous take on our carbon footprint in the form of a wounded paint can stating "Can Down" and text next to it reading "Wash your step".
In below video you will see how we plan to develop the artwork through time on the wall. Thank you to the HITSnyc for lending us their track!
IF WE REACH OUR GOAL:
We will be able to pay our artist, buy materials needed to supply our artist for this project, pay everyone involved in helping this project come into fruition and it will pay for the use of the wall.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
Receive a THANK YOU on our website, a post card and poster made of 100% recycled paper, your name power washed onto NYC streets, a limited edition project t-shirt supplied by SPƎNGLISH (ñ) seen below:

For those generous individuals that pledge $100 or more they will become a part of the project! (please see details in reward section)

In the end all involved will have helped a clean art project for all to see and an emerging artist.
Stencil it into your schedule this summer. Join us in cleaning with art!
We love art. We love Graffiti. and We love our world.

Risks and challenges
If we are fortunate enough to have this project backed then the nature of our project will require time to carry out. We are limited by the city to certain hours of when we are allowed to wash the sidewalk, but we are highly committed to work within the time allotted to cleverly carry out scheduling to accomodate all of our backers' wishes. Should unexpected delays arise surrounding our expected timeframes available to carry out our art, we will take all the necessary steps to keep our backers fully informed as to our rescheduling.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
