About this project
Graffiti Beach originally started as a pop-up concept, launching events throughout California to promote emerging designers, artists and musicians. Now, Graffiti Beach has a brick-and-mortar store in San Diego (2220 Fern St.) and an ecommerce site www.ShopGraffitiBeach.com, where it sells hundreds of up-and-coming brands from creatives around the globe. Graffiti Beach Magazine is an important element of the company because it tells the stories behind the emerging talent that Graffiti Beach supports.
The goal of the magazine is to share the stories behind emerging talent and to highlight trends in the creative industry. As a 100% contribution-based magazine, it does not rely on advertisers. This allows contributors to showcase their work as emerging creatives while also keeping production costs low for Graffiti Beach. This also means that the magazine won’t be overrun with ads, providing readers with uninterrupted access to fresh stories and inspiring imagery that’s unlike any other magazine on stands today!
If we are funded, the issue will be released on May 7th, 2013. This issue will reveal over 20 unconventional methods of street art around the globe. Think yarn bombing, stair art, origami and more. The visuals will truly knock your socks off! Plus, Fo Porter from cycle 12 of “America's Next Top Model” will grace our cover and release an exclusive interview about all of her geeky fetishes!

Graffiti Beach has launched three digital issues to date which can be seen at www.issuu.com/graffitibeach. While digital is great to reach a wide audience, it is not sufficient to tell the stories we wish to tell. We find readers briefly scroll through the images but have a hard time reading it online. Our goal is to produce a premium 152-page publication that will be a coffee table item that inspires individuals for years to come.

Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge will be timing. In order to make sure we produce the magazine by our deadline, we will be in full production mode throughout the launch of this campaign.
