About this project

.

The core members of housekeeping and personal hygiene acquired life force and personalities. After being used over and over for the convenience of humans, one of them came up with a plan to escape with his brethren towards absolute freedom. They all agreed to escape human torture. Finally they escaped but the humans in the household caught wind of the situation and sent someone who understands housekeeping the most to capture them all. The Janitor.

Will you support the members of housekeeping and guide them towards freedom or would you rather hunt them down and protect the housekeeping culture that has been passed down through several generations?

.

MEET THE CASTS

Mr. Toothbrush was a very useful tool in the human world. In the world of housekeeping however, he is renowned as a figure of intelligence. After gaining his personality, he began studying human books in order to increase his IQ and conquer humans. His plans for world domination may be a reality if he can escape the human household.

Aunty Broom is the direct aunt to Mr. Toothbrush. In the human world, she was a very good tool for the floor but the humans barely use her nowadays because of the existence of vacuum cleaners. She was afraid of going extinct like the rest of her kind and decided to join her brother in his plans for freedom.

The brother to Aunty Broom and the ring leader of the housekeeping/janitorial rebels. He is not as intelligent as his nephew (Mr. Toothbrush) but he has the mind and talent for strategy. This was due to his undying love for chess. Since gaining his personality, he has spent countless hours building up numerous plans for escaping human reality.

A legend. Everyone knows him in the household. He is the 2nd favorite tool of the humans. The members of the janitorial closet know him as a grumpy granny. He refuses to get used to the daily bathroom activities of humans because he feels his task is too tedious. He loves playing several pranks against humans like, clogging up himself, overflowing water out of his mouth, and doing any other thing possible that may make the life of humans a little difficult. He has agreed to join Brother Mop in his plans for escape and is in support of Mr. Toothbrush's plans for world domination.

General plunger is a general indeed. He is an outstanding soldier that does his job without asking questions or complaining. He faces so many battles against fecal matter head on, and does not back down from any one of them. The janitor loves him because at war, he has a winning success rate of 98 percent. He is also the direct servant to Master Toilet.

A great universal legend and human's most favorite tool in the household. As an uncompromising caregiver, she does her job effortlessly no matter how hard it is and does not complain. She is universal and can multi-task effectively. Since gaining her personality and learning about the plans of Brother Mop, she has decided to retire from her duties indefinitely.

The Janitor. An authoritative figure that enforces housekeeping/janitorial duties. After the escape of his most priced possessions, he was hired by his fellow humans to capture them all. In his former life, he was a low class human. In present times, thanks to the issue at hand, he became the most important figure in the human world. He has set traps all over the world to increase his capture efficiency.

  • One board
  • 2 dice (one playing, one spare)
  • 7 playing pieces
  • 105 playing cards (15 per player)
  • One rule book.

These are what are included in a standard box.

.

THE BASICS

Each player is delegated 15 cards only. Cards are based on the piece you pick. For example, a player assuming Mr. Toothbrush can only pick cards that pertain to Mr. Toothbrush, and so on. Cards contain perks that can either give you an advantage or a disadvantage. There are 3 advantage cards, 3 disadvantage cards, and 9 neutral cards. A die is rolled to determine how many steps to take and a card is picked up to compliment the rolled die. It is that simple.

.

THE GAMEPLAY

One player assumes the role of the janitor and starts at the top right exit* (please see board above)

The rest of the players assume roles of the escapees and start at the top right entrance. A die will be rolled by each player except the janitor, to determine who moves first. For example, the person with the lowest die will be player 1, the next person with the lowest die will be player 2, and so on. Everyone stays at the right top entrance until their numbers are sorted. Once every escapees' number is sorted, the janitor shuffles each player's cards and one escapee player shuffles the janitor's cards (this is to prevent cheating or unintended mischief). All cards are to remain faced down.

Now the game can begin. Each player starting from player 1 can roll a die and take steps according to their die number then play one card to reveal their perks. Once every escapee has moved, the janitor can now roll a die and move according to his die number then play one card to reveal perks. Every player movement goes in this order:

  • Roll die
  • Move according to die number
  • Play one card to reveal perks
  • End turn.

There are 5 levels on the board depicted with an entrance and an exit.

Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4, and Final Level. Movements are done in a circular pattern around each level. see illustration below*

Red marks shows movement pattern on each level.

Once any escapee reaches the exit, they can enter the entrance of the next level, and so on until the 4th exit is reached. The janitor can only enter the exit of the next level once an exit is reached. The entrance and exit lanes are staggered within each level. There is no set movement pattern so players must move in the direction the entrance is facing at all times unless the player's card says otherwise. The janitor re-shuffles the cards of any player that enters a new level.

Player movements from Level 1 - 4 (direction opposite entrance) see red arrows*

Once at the 4th exit (on Level 4), the player has to roll a 1, 2, 3, or 4 to move into the Final Level. If the player rolls otherwise, their turn ends. The Final Level is the hallway and each entrance is depicted by numbers 1, 2, 3 and 4. So, if you roll 1 on the the 4th exit, you automatically jump to number 1 on the Final Level, and if you roll 2 you jump to number 2, and so on. On the Final Level, escapees move according to their lanes and can only roll a 1, 2, 3, or 4 to advance (Lane 1 stays on Lane 1, Lane 2 stays on Lane 2, and so on). On the same Final Level, the janitor moves according to his/her lane and cannot enter the Final exit. However, they can jump over the Final exit and proceed to the next opposite lane and move around the Final level in a clockwise manner until the game ends. (see illustrations below)*

Escapee movements on Final Level. see red arrows*

The game ends when all escapees reach the Final exit, or when all escapees are captured by the janitor, or when some players reach the Final exit and others are captured.

Escapees are captured by the janitor if they enter the janitor's position. If lucky, an advantage card can be played to override the capture. Escapees can also be captured when a janitor enters their position. In this case, the escapees have to wait their turn to play a card. If they play an advantage card, the capture is overridden. If not, they are captured by the janitor.

Throughout the board, on all levels, there are traps set by the janitor. They cannot be avoided unless you play an advantage card. The janitor can also fall into his own trap.

Trap: Wet Floor
Trap: Wet Floor

Escapees take two steps back when they enter the wet floor trap. The janitor only takes one step back. An advantage card can override this for lesser consequences.

 .

Trap: Valhalla
Trap: Valhalla

No one wants to be in Valhalla, at least not too soon. By entering Valhalla, escapees return back to the entrance on the level they are in, thereby restarting the same level. The janitor returns back to the exit on the same level thereby restarting the level again. An advantage card can be played for lesser consequences, well if lucky.

Risks and challenges

Though this is our very first project on Kickstarter, we are veterans in producing and delivering high quality products. We also have great relationships with our manufacturers and distributors. This makes fulfillment of products a lot faster and seamless. All pledges will be fulfilled before or on November 2018, just before the holidays!

There may be unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, that may cause a slight delay in our fulfillment process. Such include adverse weather conditions, manufacturing, shipping, and customs delays. They are known issues and we already possess pre-configured management plans to combat them if they arise. You can rest assured.
