Pre-Production Pics + Survey Update

Dearest backers,

Our product team has just returned from the factory and wanted to provide 2 quick updates on your new favorite bike!

1) Surveys

We're sorry we haven't gotten these out yet. A few high-priority projects (e.g. going to China!) took precedence, but we intend to get these out soon.

AND PLEASE DON'T WORRY - SURVEYS ARE NOT A BOTTLENECK AND WILL NOT DELAY DELIVERY!

2) Bike Production

Last week, we visited our factory friends to oversee pre-production.

In the early stages of production, the team ensures that all parts have been delivered to the factory, then that each batch of parts is quality tested to meet our expectations (FYI: it is physically impossible to exceed our obsessive expectations). Frames are welded, tested, and painted, wheels are built, and the factory prepares the assembly lines.

Now that all of the essential elements are in place, we're ready to actually make these bikes Fortified. Starting this week, we will be sending our frames down the conveyor belt to be equipped with cables, brakes, cranks, gears, wheels, and handlebars. 280 units at a time will be stuffed into a massive shipping container (think Dexter) for safe passage to our warehouse in beautiful Massachusetts.

TL/DR: We're still on schedule for our May delivery and excited to get you riding your new favorite bike!

Until then, check out these pictures from the factory floor. Bonus points to the first person who can identify what's going on in the last image!

Love,

Team Fortified

Is the factory painting your rims all black? It looks like some sort of conveyer belt for hanging rims... Some sort of job that happening to the rims :)
