We're back! and we've made some changes that we think you'll like :)
We received some amazing feedback from many of you, we listened to the changes you wanted to see, and revised this project.
The 2 main changes we've made:
NEW DESIGNS — The 2 decks we're starting with are both brand new and include white borders (slightly broken for fans), more colorful back designs, and standard faces. The voting designs are also completely new (more about this soon...)
SIMPLER STRUCTURE — Many of you were confused by the scope of the initial project and overwhelmed by too many deck designs at once (as well as the cost of purchasing an entire brick). We've removed the subscription aspect for now and reduced the # of decks in this campaign to just 3.
Cardistry is about motion, play and discovery. It is a new and quickly evolving art form dedicated to the exploration of possibilities around manipulating a deck of 52 playing cards. The community has quickly grown from dozens to thousands around the world and considering all of the groundbreaking new moves that being developed daily, we are excited to see where the future leads.
The goal of Cardistry Club is to provide members of the cardistry community a broader range of tools to choose from when creating their kinetic artwork. We also want to give cardists the opportunity to impact what the future of cardistry will look like by participating in and contributing towards the design of new decks.
All Cardistry Club decks will be printed by the United States Playing Card Company (USPC), makers of Bicycle & Bee brand decks and supplier to casinos around the world.
BAUHAUS is a new deck that was designed after hearing your feedback. Inspired by traditional Bauhaus design style, this deck features bright bold colors in a fun pattern. The faces include modified standard court cards and custom pips to match the feel of the back design.
MEMPHIS is another new deck with a nostalgic Memphis-style design reminiscent of imagery seen on Trapper Keepers, bedsheets, and other fond memories from the '80s and '90s. Court cards are playfully larger than life and pips are custom to match. You'll want to have this deck in hand while watching reruns of Saved by the Bell.
The third deck back design was decided by you wonderful backers of this project. Next we'll be voting on the faces of the deck. More details soon...
Risks and challenges
Fortunately we have already completed 13 successful Kickstarter campaigns and previously produced 19 decks of cards with the United States Playing Card Company (USPC). At this point we have all the logistics figured out in terms of production and fulfillment.
We'll be partnering with Gamblers Warehouse to handle all order fulfillment. They are pros at shipping logistics and specialize in the playing card industry.
If you have any concerns or questions, please send us an email at email@example.com and we'll get back to you ASAP.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
