For the period of the Beta, Nordur, Naphas & Tagari are playable in the digital version for every backer. Buyers of the arachnids unfortunately can’t play the arachnids during the beta. The Beta ends with the delivery of the physical cards. After receipt of the cards you can read your cards into your profile and play with your ordered race.
WHAT IS GOL?
GoL is a collectible card game that connects two worlds - the physical and the digital. The collectible cards can be played in the traditional sense at a table but can also be brought to life digitally.
Playing & trading cards is possible on both interconnected platforms.
WHY PRINTED CARDS?
As absolute fans of playing card and board games together in the traditional sense, we place great importance on the social aspect of games, i.e. playing face-to-face. We're convinced that the feelings you get when unpacking, smelling and holding freshly printed cards in your hand can never be satisfied digitally.
- better quality than poker cards - made of PVC, thick and flexible
- Big but still comfortable to hold (100mm, 58mm, 0,4 mm)
- Rounded corners
- Offset printing, top-notch color quality
- Water-repellent (washable) & UV resistant (no yellowing)
- Equipped with a unique NFC (not visible and noticeable)
- Made in Germany

WHY ALSO DIGITAL?
By no means, do we wish to ignore the benefits of digital developments, which is why we have combined the merits of both platforms in our first collectible card game. Obviously, the digital world has its own charms:
Digital Version Screenshots:
- 2-player strategical card game played in turns
- new elements: movement, range & troop strength
- choose 1 race & create your deck (Mixing races is not possible)
- pick your hero, guardian and equipment before the battle starts
- select your starting hand
- Destroy your opponents fighting moral points to win the battle
BETA APP OVERVIEW
This video should give you some insight about the digital version. Its still in development. We plan on releasing updates during the campaign and share the progress with you.
The battlefield is split in three zones – the players zone (blue or red) and the neutral zone. All hexagons are part of the battlefield and therefore sectors, where cards can be placed. In each hexagon, there is only space for one character-card except for identical cards (troops). Identical cards can be stacked, thus forming a troop. The field in the middle of each player’s first row belongs to the guardian (1). The guardian is placed horizontal according to the mark. (more information below) Each player starts the game with 3 fight moral points (2). In addition, there are 3 equipment cards (3) which are placed next to the battlefield. The deck (4) is placed to the player’s right. If characters fall, they will rest in peace at the graveyard (5).
HOW TO PLAY
Players flip Lyboria Coin - Winner chose side (blue or red)
- Blue side picks a Hero
- Red side picks a Hero
- Red side picks a Guardian
- Blue side picks a Guardian
- Both players secretly select 3 of their equipment cards
- Both players select their starting hand and shuffle again
- Red side begins
The game is played in turns. One turn consists of 3 phases:
- Placing-Phase: Players place their cards on the battlefield
- Action-Phase: Move OR attack with your cards on the battlefield
- Drawing-Phase: Draw cards from your deck and prepare for your next turn
First turn only consist of Placing-Phase & Drawing-Phase
Each player starts with 3 fight moral points. The ultimate goal is to destroy all of your opponents fight moral. This can be achieved in three different ways:
- Destroy your opponents hero (-1 fight moral point)
- Destroy your opponents guardian (-1 fight moral point)
- Destroy 5 character-cards of your opponent (-1 fight moral point) – multiple times possible
We have 2 different type of cards:
- Character cards
- Equipment cards
Character cards are split into 4 levels:
- Hero / Guardian
Character cards layout
Players chose 3 equipment cards before the battle begins. They can be used to enhance character cards.
HERO, GUARDIAN AND EFFECT CLASSES
Each race features 5 different guardian and hero classes. This means that all races have 1 guardian and 1 hero per class available. In order to prepare for battle you and your opponent have to choose one guardian and one hero alternately.
All effects of the game are also referring to one of the 5 classes.
Effects can be canceled. Other cards can be protected from attacks or attacks are redirected.
Tactics affects deck composition (troops, levels), game conditions (number of cards, cards in player's hands) and combat situations.
Alteration affects the core values* of opposing cards (change, swap), the position of own or enemy units, or even influences the fields. (block, limited access)
One or more combat stats are inherently higher or may grow as the game progresses. (Number of defeated enemies, cards in the graveyard, etc.) Battle also affects the combat behavior.
One or more values of the four core values* are improved. All equipment cards fall into this effect class.
EXAMPLES OF THE BATTLE
The value movement indicates the maximum number of hexagons the relevant card can move per turn. For this action, all of the free neighbouring hexagons can be used in every direction. Already taken hexagons, whether by you or your opponent, cannot be stepped onto or crossed.
All melee units without exception have a range value of 1. This means all attacks can only be executed on neighbouring hexagons.
Cards with troop banner can be used multiple times in the deck (depending on the value) and as well be stacked during the battle, as already mentioned earlier. The value inside the troop banner signals the maximum number of troop strength as well as availability within the deck. Troops perform like one unit. For attack and defence, they join forces, therefore both values (attack and defense) are multiplied with the number of stacked cards whereas movement and range remain the same. Ranged battle units have a minimum range of 2 hexagons and a maximum range of 3 hexagons.
Hermeticists are similar to sorcerers. Their type of combat is the least represented. Their range is various and lies between 1-3 hexagons.
Players have 1 action per unit per turn. Attack or move. Enemy cards, that are within the range of more than 1 unit, can be attacked jointly. In that case, all attack values are totaled up.

If you wonder why this Project was created by our Member Hugo, its simple because Liechtenstein, the Country where our Company is located, was not available for Kickstarter Projects.
Why did we create this game?
1. We played endless card, board games and video games on our own – this is what we are passionate about.
2. We wanted to create our own huge fantasy world, and this card game is one way to introduce our world to you .
We have been working on this project for about 1,5 years now. Mostly full time. We take it very serious.
Why Kickstarter and what are our goals with this project?
We need your help to take the next big step. Our ultimate goal is of course going Retail. To be honest, we are absolutely convinced that this game has the potential to be the number one TCG physically and digitally. To proof that, we need your help.

Risks and challenges
First of all, thank you very much for your interest in our project!
We are very aware that our funding goal is set high, but it is also very realistic for the scope of our project. Our responsibility is to set a funding goal, which actually allows us to finish the core game. Everything else would not be honest for the people who are interested in our game / project.
With our own resources we are able to finish the starter decks for 4 races. This means 140 unique cards or illustrations. Moreover, a digital beta version is in works and will be finished within the next month. Although it’s a Beta version, it will meet very high standards in terms of gameplay and design. Go and see yourself, there is a video + screenshots in our KS page.
The funding goal of 280K CHF, less the manufacturing cost of the ordered games, would be used to provide players additional 65 unique cards per race (260 illustrations in total)
The starter deck already offers various strategies and styles to play, but nevertheless our ultimate vision requires more cards per race for two reasons:
• to ensure more strategies and playstyles based on our game concept (playing field, diversity of races, etc.)
• to offer players to collect & trade cards
Which brings us to probably the biggest “taboo word” when it comes to card games: “trading” or “collecting”, in fact “TCG” & “CCG”.
Risks, challenges, our opinion and our approach:
Talking about risks, many people hear the word TCG or CCG and already stop reading. Well, to a certain amount this is absolutely understandable due to the policy many other publishers have.
There are two main reasons in our opinion:
1. New released cards outperform old cards
2. Rarity and its combination with “power”.
Anyway, there are various articles about this topic for those who want to learn more about it.
The big question is; why did we still decide to create a TCG? what separates us?
We think many people like to collect! We also think collecting should be fun, affordable and have also an end.
Here some basic information before getting into it:
Unique cards per level per Starter Deck compared to total race:
2 of 5 Heroes
2 of 5 Guardians
3 of 10 Masters
4 of 20 Vanguards
19* of 45 Warriors
5 of 15 equipment cards
*19 unique cards and some of them are multiple times in the deck (total 26 warriors) to guarantee troop strength which leads to 42 total cards at the end
Troop strength is an option to stack the same card. Only attack value and defense value will be multiplied.
(Multiple “weak” cards can also be a threat)
1. Balancing & Rarity:
A Starter Deck already contains cards of all Levels. This means collecting will mainly help you to gain more options instead of power.
Booster packs are race specific.
Rarity is based on these levels too! 100 unique cards per race (85 characters’ cards and 15 equipment cards) are already defined and planned. For example:
A Pool of 85 unique character cards -> 10 masters -> in average every 8.5 character card will be a master.
All cards with higher rarity than heroes and guardians just differentiate in optics. (alternative artwork, sketch versions etc.)
Decks limit the number of levels. Max. allowed cards per levels per deck:
The deck has to consist of: 1 Hero, 1 Guardian & 3 equipment cards (all chosen separately before the battle starts) + 33 character cards (split into Master, Vanguards and Warriors) for the draw pile.
Besides Deckbuilding, a player’s skill will be a big factor for victory or defeat, since area control and positioning are two key factors of the game, which are not directly related to the cards.
2. Trading Card Game - focus on trading!
If there is collecting, a platform and market is essential! Especially this topic gains great benefits of the digital part of the game.
Present and offer your spare cards in our in-game marketplace. No 3rd party required. If you really have certain cards more than its troop strength allows, you can trade these cards for other cards of the same race or even for cards of the other races. This will help you to already collect cards for another race while completing your main one.
Players will have a real overview on which and how many cards are circulating.
Due to the fact, that every card as a unique NFC, we can monitor trades and enable the digital version of the traded cards not until both players have successfully traded their physical cards.
Trading will be rewarded and paired with the player’s profile (reputation).
3. Manufacturing & Shipping:
We don’t expect any inconvenience.
Our providers of the cards, packaging and the other content are located within reach. We have already examined their factory and ordered several prototypes. The supply chain will be monitored. (incoming control & dispatch control).
Our providers are located in Germany and Austria.
Our Team Member Hugo has plenty years of experience in Operations, Productions, Logistics & Supply Chain.
