Goetic Spirit Medallions
Goetic Impressions is proud to present our custom made Goetic Spirit Medallions. Made of brass and enamel and measuring two inches in diameter, these medallions feature one of the seals for one of the 72 Goetic spirits from the Lesser Key Solomon on the front, and the Pentacle of Solomon on the back.
Each seal has been redesigned from historical accounts and texts to more accurately reflect the individual entities than what a cursory internet search will reveal. The color of the outer ring of the seal reflects the ranking of the spirit, while the color of the seal itself reflects the nature of the spirit that it represents. For the sample set we produced we used the spirit Dantalion. For Dantalion the outer circle is green, representing his status as a Duke, which is associated with the planet Venus. The seal itself is purple.
For years we have looked for medallions that properly represented the entities in the Lemegeton, and were forced to choose either between custom made medallions costing hundreds of dollars, or cheap mass produced ones that contained multiple flaws in quality and symbolism. When Goetic Impressions started this project our goal was to create high quality medallions that were as ritual accurate as possible, or that just looked good enough to wear as a fashion accessory. We believe we have been successful on both fronts.
Ritual Evocation Mat
Our Ritual Evocation Mat is made of 13oz vinyl and comes in two sizes, the larger, 10 foot by 15 foot, and the smaller 5 foot by 7.5 foot. The larger mat has the advantage of correctly meeting all dimensions given for the circle and triangle in the Lesser Key of Solomon, but the smaller mat is perfectly functional for smaller individual rituals (as you can see in the photograph above).
Several errors were intentionally left in the Mathers and Crowley translation of the Lesser Key of Solomon when it comes to the correct creation of this circle and triangle. Those errors have been painstakingly corrected.
The colors of the serpent inside the circle represent the stations on the tree of life from Kether through Yesod (Malkuth is represented by the individual occupying the center of the circle). Each station on the serpent invokes the names of several angles and protective spirits in order to ensure safe operation of any Goetic ritual performed while inside.
So What Is 'Goetic Impressions' Anyway?
Goetic Impressions is a group of craftsmen and occultists who want to bring our crafts (both magical and material) to the rest of the world. We wanted to start with a small project to 'test the waters' before moving on to more ambitious things.
Our goal is to help provide the world with quality products for occult students. Our products are designed for both the beginner and advanced practitioner, and as such we will be presenting information along with each product so people can understand how to use them effectively and safely within a ritual context. Of course if people just want to collect our products because they look awesome, then that is fine too!
Future projects we have planned include engraved Chalices, custom Tarot decks, a Baphomet plushie, and much more!
So, What Will The Money Be Used For?
The majority of the money from this project will go toward production of the medallions. The actual cost to make the medallions is low, but there is a large cost for the molds to get started. With 72 different designs to make we decided that getting some help from the community was the way to go.
Additional funds will go toward fully fleshing out and launching our website, and development for our next project.
On the chance that we exceed our initial goal, and end up having some money left over, we want to give some back to all the people that helped support us. So we are setting some stretch goals!
At $10,000 each medallion will come with a necklace attached, so you can instantly put it on right out of the box! This stretch goal will apply to any reward that comes with a medallion.
At $20,000 each backer of $100 or more will also receive a custom made wooden box, with the Goetic Impressions logo engraved on it. These boxes will be a great way to store your medallions when you are not wearing them, and will look fantastic on any altar!
Risks and challenges
Our primary risk with this project is defective molds. Our sample molds came out awesome, and so did the medallions, so we are not too worried about this, but in the interest of full disclosure manufacturing the molds is an expensive process and if there is an error it might set us back on deliveries by a few weeks.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
