GINA will work with regular V60 or Chemex filters, as well as with a KONE stainless steel cone filter. Then Aeropress filters would fit the glass module for cold drip preparation (although they are just a tiny bit bigger than ideal). BUT we'll do our best to have our own filters ready too by the time we start shipping GINA.
The battery is a li-on battery (1000mAh, 3700 mWh), which will keep your GINA going for up to 80 brewing hours. -- NOTE: Our team already managed to increase the number of working hours to 150 so we're now working on getting each GINA to this result.
Prototype GINAs have a latency of around 100ms. We estimate we can bring this down to about 25ms for production. You can see realtime data flow in our “GINA working with the APP” video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXOjHJiNS50
The weight increment is 0.1g with 0.5g linearity. The app rounds it to 1g accuracy for better user experience but you will be able to choose a 0.1g accuracy as well.
Besides being environment friendly we also want to be user friendly. The battery itself is not user replaceable, but we plan for the whole base to be user replaceable with the old base returned to us for refurbishment.
Yes, you can also make tea! You put tea in the filter (which you’ve already rinsed) and pour hot water over it while leaving the valve closed. After 3-5 minutes you open the valve and let your hot tea drip through the filter and into your glass pitcher. Tip: If you place ice cubes inside your pitcher it's a perfect way to make some ice tea. Cheers!
