About this project
A NEW GLUE FILM A WEEK FOR A YEAR.
Help us complete and deliver 52 Glue Films to you– our backers– in advance of their public release. This means every backer will receive a weekly delivery to your inbox, all year long.
WHAT IS A GLUE FILM?
A Glue Film is a documentary short, currently ranging between 6 and 18 minutes total, featuring a couple that shares how they met, what obstacles they have faced, and how they continue to stick together (their "Glue"). Each Glue Film is shot with high-def cameras, professionally mixed and edited, and organized using a color-coded chaptering system.
DOES LOVE NEED A CONSERVATION EFFORT? WE THINK SO.
Let's face it. Stories such as our Great-Grandparents, married 74 years, are becoming a dying breed. The world is changing fast and so is the way we connect and commit to each other.
As these relationships vanish, so do many of our relationship role models. That’s where Global Glue Project (GGP) comes in: capturing and preserving relationship wisdom.
WHY YOU CAN FEEL GOOD ABOUT SUPPORTING US.
As a backer you are helping us create and share this content, sending a message that sticking together matters.
In this transformative time in the world, we believe in the importance of documenting romantic relationships of all kinds– from the dying-breed relationships of a by-gone era, to those cultures facing dramatic shifts, to same-sex partnerships– driving wide acceptance around the globe.
If you share our belief that healthy relationships positively influence everyone they touch, help us build an archive of inspiring Glue Films for future generations.
WHAT WE'VE BEEN HEARING.
"Global Glue is really needed in the world." Dave Payne
"Leia and I watched all the videos while making dinner last night. We then finished with a positive yet very real discussion about our relationship inspired by the topics addressed by the couples. Thanks for that...the value of the films is awesome. I'm keeping my fingers crossed you reach the goal for funding!" Sean Barry
"I think love stories matter, too." Mary VonBreck
"Thank you for being story tellers of the best kind." Kirstin Strickland
56 COUPLES, 8 COUNTRIES, 3 CONTINENTS & COUNTING.
3 years ago we set out to film couples across the Globe, asking what the Glue is that holds them together.
So far, we have shot 56 interviews (Glue Films) in 8 countries, giving us a candid look at healthy relationships and how they handle the difficult issues most of us face.
In total, that’s over 500 years of cumulative relationship wisdom from couples who have celebrated anywhere from 1 to 70 years together.
Our first 4 Glue Films are finished and are viewable on our beta website, www.globalglueproject.com.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP.
Completely self-funded up to this point, we have filmed throughout the US, and in Japan, South Korea, China, Russia, India, Romania, and Denmark.
Our vision is to create the World’s most important archive of real couples– accessible to everyone– inspiring healthy relationships around the globe.
With 4 Glue Films completed, we need your help to complete 52 more. Each story requires a lot finishing work: shaping, editing, coloring, sound mixing and formatting.
OUR FIRST FOUR COUPLES.
The couples featured in the first 4 Glue Films, can also be seen in the current issue of ORIGIN magazine.

GLOBAL GLUE PROJECT'S WEBSITE.
Our beta website houses our first 4 couples so that users can experience the site’s unique design, organizing a vast amount of useful, meaningful content using a color-coded chaptering system. Each user may view the content differently, choosing to sort within the categories (How They Met, Obstacles, Glue, Kisses) and then sorting further by place, years together, or by tags.

Risks and challenges
We are committed. 56 couples in eight countries and counting...we have personally invested on plane tickets, camera gear, and countless hours of editing to arrive where we are today. But, we have a long way to go to finish the remaining 52 films. Our first challenge is a successful kickstarter campaign, and we hope to enlist your help by asking you to please share our page with your family and friends.
Our plan is to send you, our backers, one Glue Film a week for a year. We have streamlined our production process and feel confident this is an attainable goal. However, with any project, there are unexpected hiccups and delays. Each film is professionally edited and sound mixed and color corrected, so there is always a chance for production delays. We will of course remain transparent and notify our backers of any production delays or quality issues with either the films themselves or with the backer rewards.
We have worked incredibly hard to find compelling interviews and get great content "in the can" and hope that you see our commitment to the project, and feel confident backing us. With your help we can release 52 Glue Films!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
