The Greater Lowell Music Theatre is a group of theatre artists and musicians in the Lowell, Massachusetts area. Co-founded by playwright Jack Neary, Leon Grande and Phyllis George, and partnered with the UMass Lowell Center for Arts and Ideas and COOL, the Cultural Organization of Lowell, we hope to create a performance venue which will feature the best in American musical theatre. Our Inaugural effort will be a concert version of Meredith Willson's classic piece of Americana, THE MUSIC MAN, on August 3 and 4 at 8:00 p.m. at Durgin Hall at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Wilder Street, Lowell, MA. A stunning array of singers, actors and dancers will bring this musical to life. "Seventy-six Trombones," "Trouble in River City," "Lida Rose," "Till There Was You." Some of the most memorable songs in music theatre history. Our Kickstarter campaign will help us defray our initial costs of royalties and script materials, rehearsal pianist and musicians. Our goal is to raise $7600--that's $100 a trombone for 76 trombones. And if those $100 increments accumulate from donations of $5, $10 or $25, it doesn't matter. Your TAX DEDUCTIBLE contribution will be welcome and honored. Please, consider donating. And consider visiting us on the South Campus of UMass Lowell in August.
