About this project
Giuliano Hazan, bestselling author and award-winning teacher, is creating a new eBook filled with some of his most beloved pasta recipes. Join him in making it happen – with the added bonus of learning to make his simple yet super-impressive pasta dishes.
The eBook will include recipes from Giuliano’s widely popular, and now out of print, bestselling cookbook, The Classic Pasta Cookbook, and will initially be available in the Apple iBookstore as an enhanced iBook. Giuliano began his writing career in 1993 with The Classic Pasta Cookbook, an international bestseller with 500,000 copies in print. Nominated for a coveted James Beard Award, it was translated into 12 languages.
Each of the close to 100 recipes included will feature original full-color photography – many with special features and HD video. Hybrids of a well-produced cooking show and hands-on cooking class, these videos let you feel as though Giuliano is right by your side as you learn to prepare his delicious and classic pasta recipes. Giuliano is also shooting a video on how to make pasta from scratch – making it, rolling it out, and cutting it.
The result is an enhanced eBook that will feel like your own personal cooking class…serve as a practical reference tool…and make for a fun read!
We hope you’ll join this community by supporting this project. In turn, you’ll receive rewards ranging from: you being credited for your support on Giuliano’s web site…to a day on the set and private dinner with Giuliano and crew!
“My passion is teaching people to appreciate and master simple, honest Italian cooking. Just as my parents, Marcella and Victor Hazan, instilled in me, I want people to share the pleasures of Italian cooking around their own family tables.”
Giuliano is collaborating with an all-star team. Longtime friend, cooking student, and business partner Bob "dwangobob" Huntley is leading the eBook development.
No stranger to technology, Bob has more than 25 years of software and game development experience. About seven years ago, Bob’s wife suggested they enroll in Giuliano’s cooking school in Italy – and Bob was hooked immediately. His passion for Italian cooking and fast friendship with Giuliano have led to this extraordinary opportunity.
Art director, Betty Wong, photographer, Mary Herrmann, and food stylist, Julie Hettiger, are also part of this world-class team. This nationally award-winning group brings deep experience in design, photography and all things food.
