I just received my giraffe stand today, after what, 2 years?
I hate to say this, but it's really disappointing. The finishing was so raw, the giraffe shaped head had so many sharp edges, I absolutely have no idea how I am going to use this stand in bed as intended, with my kid jumping around in my room. Even if I don't have a kid, this thing is still so dangerous I have reservations about just using it myself. The range of movement of the stand itself is also not that smooth, and comfortable.
With the amount of time spent on this, I would have expected something useable, thoughtful, and most of all safe. I do regret holding out so long and not getting a refund. Those who managed to get a refund, good on you, lucky you.
This is the biggest disappointment I have met with in my history of kickstarter. Very disappointed. I don't know what else to say.

As a backer and entrepreneur, I wanted to share my POV with those that have become impatient for delivery of this product. First, I believe the communication has been good. Whenever I begin wondering about status, I generally receive an update within a week or so. As a developer, I know how difficult it is to write an update that says the product or service will be delayed, knowing I have disappointed some of my investors. It stinks. For those of you who have been involved in a manufacturing setting, you will know that prototypes of products requiring supplier parts, particularly bespoke parts, involve delays and disappointment as a rule. As a final comment, I see Kickstarter as a micro venture capital tool, with emphasis on venture, and venture meaning risk. I would very much like to receive my giraffe stand, and I believe I will, but I also realize that there is a small chance that the "idea" I invested in will not come to fruition as a tangible product due to many known and unknown circumstances. Had I simply wanted an iPad stand delievered within a week or so, I would have ordered one from Brookstone. I hope that the wise people at Kickstarter will address this issue, as I am strongly certain that this is not the first time the issue has materialized. Thank you for letting me share my piece.

I hate to join the chorus but I'm also in the group who would like my money back as soon as possible. It's been far too long and I no longer have a use for iPad/Tablet mount like this. Thank you.
I came to the comments for exactly the same reason as Blake. While I am happy that you and the students are getting this real life experience, product release has been delayed simply too much. I would like my money back as soon as possible. Thank you.

How can we get our money back? It's almost a year past the est. ship date; I don't even own an iPad anymore.
Hi Brandon and Askari - sorry for the delay in communication. We ran into some unexpected issues but on the positive side have finished water jetting the parts and are waiting for a test result. We will send out regular updates every couple weeks as we move towards completion of the project.
I agree, Askari. The lack of updates is unacceptable. This is the first Kickstarter project I regret funding.
I understand delays and setbacks but how much time does it take to sit down and write a short status update every two weeks? KEEP YOUR BACKERS INFORMED.
It's insulting to the folks who gave you $4,674.
I'm upset beyond words at the total lack of updates and communication by the creator. If I had known that nearly A YEAR later I still wouldn't have my item, I would never have backed this project. $60 down the drain. Is no one else upset? What can we do to get our money back?

I would like an update as communication has not been transparent? As a backer I'm happy to wait as this is a new concept but you still owe the backers an insight if what is going on and timelines of the project.
Can we get an update on this please? We're approaching 10 months since the project was created. I think backers deserve an update. It's just common courtesy.

I apologize I just saw the May update. I am sorry for not checking first. I thought I did. I am following up on many projects that I supported.
I realize I only contributed $5, but there was a small promise of being fully informed throughout the process of creating the Giraffe stand. I haven't heard anything. Have they been shipped? I am just curious. Thank you.
Alright, it's on! Congrats guys, I can't wait to use my iPad comfortably in bed. Hope it can be ready sooner than April ;)
