Pyg Farmer is a game designed by Rich Nelson (maker of the popular game Storm the Castle!). Pyg Farmer is a fast-playing 2-4 player tile and meeple based game involving tough decisions, resource management, competition, humor, and plenty of treachery. You'll take the role of a goblin farmer raising temperamental, orcish Pygs that can mutate into strange new beasts at any moment! Pyg Farmer isn't a "filler/light game" - it's for those who enjoy varied game decisions, multiple paths to victory, and loaded with humor. The majority of what you do is not based on random elements but by how well you play!
DIFFERENT WAYS TO WIN: Pyg Farmer allows for different paths to victory thus ensuring a unique experience each time played. Whether you're a builder, explorer, goal/objective completer, invader, trader, backstabber, or resource hog (no pun intended) - you'll be able to win!
PLAY STYLE DRIVEN: You'll be competing with other farmers to complete both secret and public goals (objectives) to score awards given by the town mayor. Goals vary and require you to turn in a certain number of resources or complete different game objectives. Once players reach the pre-determined award limit, you'll score for victory points (VPs). VPs are scored in different ways to reward different play styles including: who completed the most goals, who has the most resources, most land, if you invaded another player's farm, most farm upgrades, and more.
You'll start the game on your farm tile. Soon you'll need to start exploring new lands to make room for your ever-breeding pygs that you'll use for a variety of reasons. How you use your goblin farmer is also instrumental.You'll have to decide whether to keep your goblin farmer at the farm to create additional resources, or use him to rally your pygs into a mighty invasion force!
Your turns will involve managing scarce resources, completing secret and public goals, upgrading your farm with new wonderful contraptions, exploring new lands to settle, buying and selling resources at the market, trading with other players and engaging in deadly pyg battles, and more!
Mutations: Some action cards will allow you to mutate your pygs giving them strange new powers that may or may not be in your best interest!
Feelings! In the midst of all this you're going to have to manage your pyg's very sensitive feelings: Love, Playtime, and Safety. For example, harvest too many pygs for resources and you can only imagine how they'll start feeling about you. Interrupt their playtime by exploring new lands or marching them off to battle, then expect a revolt. Being attacked too often? Well watch that safety plunge!
SEASONS: Players take their turns in each of the four different seasons with each of them having unique bonuses and penalties. In Spring will your pygs be in the mood for love to make baby pyglets? In Summer will you be ready for your harvest and potential invasions? In Fall will you have enough resources to trade with other players? Finally, in Winter will you have enough food to feed your growing hordes!?
MARKET: Think you know how to buy low and sell high? You'll have to carefully plan what, when, and how you sell. You may want to drive prices up high by selling your resources but be careful, another player may have that resource and sell it on their turn making a goblin's fortune!
GAME LENGTH: Pyg Farmer allows you to set how long you want the game to play based on how many awards are needed to trigger the end game. Want a game in about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours, then play to 5 awards. Want longer? Simply adjust the number of awards needed. Awards are given by completing public and secret goals (objectives).

1. We successfully delivered our previous popular board game project, Storm the Castle! But with any project, unforeseen delays can pop up. Pyg Farmer is about 95.03% complete with some remaining art needing to be completed. Otherwise we have the majority of files ready to send to the printer to begin work once we fund. Our estimated dates are based on projections - we'll do our absolute best to deliver on time but please note that things can happen that may push this date back that can be out of our control.
Usually, the more stretch rewards unlocked can put additional delays in estimates but we feel these rewards are worth it to our backers.
We'll keep the community updated with the progress of the project and answer questions as they arise. We've solidified the majority of components with the exception of the market/feeling's trackers. Mail us the complete game back within 30 days of receiving it (we send tracking info to all backers) no questions asked, and you'll receive your pledge amount less 10% due to the KS fees we incur.
We're looking at Amazon to fulfill the majority of shipping. They did a good job last time with our Storm the Castle! project. If there's significant damage during shipment, send us a picture and we'll send replacement parts.
