It's an adventure game where the primary activities are talking to people, using items, exploring weird places, gathering knowledge, managing stress/guilt, and making choices. By Octopus City simulation we refer to the NPCs having schedules and the city and its inhabitants changing over time. You can't die but bad choices lead to a different game experience. While there is no combat, there are some action oriented mini-games. We have a button in the game to perform a spin dash, but it's a fun thing to do and not a major game mechanic.
