What? When? Where?
What: A special concert presentation of Could I Have This Dance?, a new stage musical by Geordie Brown & Belinda Hart, based on a true East Coast Canadian story, featuring the greatest hits of Anne Murray ("You Needed Me", "Daydream Believer", "I Just Fall In Love Again", "Could I Have This Dance?", "Snowbird", etc.).
Set in post-war Nova Scotia, the musical tells the true story of how a sisterhood of women band together through parenthood, widowhood, love, and loss, ensuring no one gets left behind.
Could I Have This Dance? recently underwent a 2-week developmental workshop which culminated in a private presentation in Halifax in October 2018.
This concert presentation on July 26th will be the first time the story and songs will be performed for the public. An exciting blend of CONCERT and MUSICAL THEATRE, spectacular concert lighting, a band of live musicians, and a cast of 12 actor/singers will help bring the incredible music and heart-wrenching story to life.
For those who choose the VIP package, you'll be invited to a post-show celebration with the cast, writers, special guests, hors d'oeuvres, and exclusive photo opportunities.
When: Friday, July 26th, 2019 at 7:30pm. The day before Anne Murray Day, kicking off the Anne Murray Centre's 30th anniversary weekend.
Where: The Rebecca Cohn Auditorium, Halifax Nova Scotia. Atlantic Canada's most prestigious performance venue, and the home of Symphony Nova Scotia. Newly renovated with world-class sound and lighting, and 1000+ comfortable soft seats. Wheelchair accessible.

The Anne Murray Centre is a world class, award-winning museum, that showcases Anne's incredible life and career, with an intimate look at her humble beginnings, flight to fame and her enduring contributions to the world of music. It holds the distinction of being the longest operating museum dedicated to a Canadian music artist. Its opening, in 1989, remains one of the proudest moments of her illustrious career.
It is a non-profit organization and is a registered Canadian charity. All of the revenue generated from the operation of the Centre is used to provide employment for local people and the ongoing maintenance of the Centre.
The Anne Murray Centre has fulfilled Anne's wish to contribute in a unique manner to her hometown, which has suffered through two mine disasters and two devastating fires since 1956.
Since opening its doors in July of 1989, the Anne Murray Centre has welcomed more than 500,000 visitors from around the world.
Kickstarter allows us to build interest, sell tickets, and raise funds in advance of the event, without the risks associated with traditional box office services. Kickstarter allows artists and non-profit organizations to pursue projects, goals, and events that might not be possible otherwise.
"Backers" (that's you!) pledge to projects to help them come to life and support a creative process. To thank their backers for their support, project creators offer unique rewards (such as tickets to the performance).
By purchasing your ticket in advance, you are helping to make this incredible event a reality.
If we happen to not sell enough tickets to fund the event by our goal date (January 13th, 2019), then you won't be charged a penny.
When can I buy tickets?
You can buy tickets by making a pledge to this project any time before January 13th, 2019. We will be assigning seats on a first come first serve basis - so make your pledge sooner than later to get the best seats!
