Science Review Process and More Art!
Everything is going smoothly thus far! I've got a couple exciting things to share...
Scientific Review Process for Science Wide Open
Our backer review panel of scientists and educators sent in some incredibly helpful and detailed feedback on the Science Wide Open text and illustrations!
We asked our review panel to focus on two specific goals:
- To accurately conveyed scientific information for 4-8 year olds
- To promote conversation, curiosity and intuition! Because of this goal, taking some liberties with the complex content might be necessary so it's ideal for our younger audience to digest. (For example, we often use the simple, well recognized model to represent an atom)
Our reviewers attentiveness to these often difficult-to-balance goals was amazing. We're devoting a significant amount of time today and tomorrow to sitting down as a team to hash through and discuss this feedback. All final edits will be send off to our artist! One step closer to submitting the files to the manufacturer!
Illustrations in Progress
Aside from any edits we make from review panel notes, all illustrations are complete! Here are two spreads I haven't showed you yet...
My First Science Textbooks Only a Couple Weeks Away!
On a side note, the My First Science Textbook series is only a couple weeks away from getting shipped out. We're super excited about these :-)
