About this project
That's right... Cytosis: A Cell Biology Game is a worker placement game that takes place inside a Human Cell!
2 to 5 Players, Ages 10 & up, Plays in 50 to 75 mins
Players utilize the organelles within a cell to collect cellular resources such as mRNA from the Nucleus, Lipids from the Smooth E.R., ATP from the Mitochondria, etc. and score points when they use these resources to complete Hormones, Receptors or Enzymes!
EVERY BACKER of this campaign will get the Virus Expansion included with thier copy of Cytosis. Players must build up their antibodies for each viral strain to help them defend against the attacking viruses! This expansion adds a whole new element of game play and an interesting push-your-luck experience involving all players!
The Collector's Edition rewards level for Cytosis will have:
- An upgraded Game Box embossed with metallic ink
- Each box will be individually numbered.
- Upgraded custom shaped macromolecule resources screen printed to detail each macromolecule!
The shapes represent each macromolecule resource (as closely and accurately as we can with custom wooden pieces). The final production of these custom wooden resources will include screen printing to show a bit more detail of each particular macromolecule (e.g. for carbs, the chemical structure for a glucose molecule).
Wouldn't it be amazing if your kids said, "That was the best day of Science Class EVER!" Well now they can!
Genius Games has been publishing Science-Based Games for over three years! There are hundreds of chemistry teachers across the globe using Ion and Covalence in their classrooms with raving success.
My First Science Textbook: Protons & Neutrons, Electrons and Atoms - If you’ve been looking for a way to introduce young kids to the wonders of the subatomic, this is the series for you!
With a playful rhyming style and adorably colorful artwork, Chem 101 has never been so much fun. You can get the 3-book set here!
A Kickstarter Launch Story - A Documentary Series
Want to know more about what it took to design and launch Cytosis on Kickstarter? Well, we've been filming a documentary series along the way just for you! A Kickstarter Launch Story is a series of short documentaries about the process we went through to design, develop, prototype, prep for Kickstarter, etc, and we're going to keep filming until we have the final game in our hands!
Risks and challenges
All projects have some level of risk, and ours is no different. In an effort to reduce the overall cost of production (and ultimately lower our funding goal) we are continuing to work with the same overseas manufacturing company we did with all of our previous games including Linkage, Peptide, Ion, Covalence and Virulence. We've had a great experience working with them and are excited to continue building on our connections.
Our turnaround for delivery will be similar to our previous games as we continue to feel out the process with the manufacturer's representatives. We do not expect delays, but anything can happen half a world away just as it could domestically. We rely on our suppliers just as you rely on us, and hope for a relationship of mutual understanding.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
