TOURIST is a comic.... it's not really a comic, it's like nothing you've ever seen before. Imagine you're a space traveller touring the unknown, taking in all there is to see..... then things go a bit wrong. This is Tourist, a non traditional collection of abstract art and images that take you on a journey. Each reader's journey will be different and I'd love you to support and join me.
You can interpret each panel in your own personal way. Each journey will be different but if you want to know how my space traveller is dealing with his journey then each issue will come with a coded data log for you to decipher and read.

Tourist presents unconstrained dream-filled narratives that delve into ominous and far out visual experiences of pure surrealism.
I'm digging the visuals. It's like an extended cut of The Twilight Zone intro!'

'When we received an advance copy of Tourist by Mark Ryan we didn't know what he was up to. Even the title of the story is mysterious and vague. What we found inside those pages was a beautiful and strange trip through different moments of weirdness. Each page is filled with panels depicting actions captured in the precise moment, as frames in a stop motion animation. The almost in-existent text (no balloons, no captions) pushes your brain to the limit. The author wants you to be part of his work, he wants you to question what you are seeing, feeling, understanding.
This story embodies the "I'll give you all of the questions but none of the answers" we like so much.
His use of black (and he likes to use black) gives you the creepy feeling you are witnessing events unfold in the middle of the void.
Tourist is a defying book. In an era of dumbed down comics where the reader gets spoon-fed the meanings behind everything, This is a big cup of well-thought WTF.
And we love it.'
