* Watch the trailer:
'My Big Bad Wolf' is a projected 30-minute film loosely based on some familiar children's stories. The crew and I began filming in late June, and we need this extra funding to complete the project by April, 2013!
The project has so far been featured on Cambridge Day, The Garment District, HorrorBug, The D-Pad, and more - but we still need help!
'My Big Bad Wolf' is about a couple living in the woods – a nondescript place out of time. The couple’s relationship is deteriorating, as they have confused love with possession. The two bait each other, constantly playing mind games.
But are these mind tricks really…games? The girl starts seeing herself and wonders if it is all a dream, or if her reflection has escaped into reality. Her own mind deteriorates and she is finally confronted with – herself.

Actors! Trailer! Where?
We're working with some great actors, and an awesome crew - and a bunch of great extras who were willing to stand in a field wearing nothing but a sheet and mask! We're also working with musicians Moth Vegas and Lewis M.
Online you can find a trailer, and a behind-the-scenes / interview video. You can also check www.geenamatuson.com for updates on the production, and little sneak peeks into the film!
* Backer credit is an unlimited reward - you are all a part of this film once you become a backer! Also, private access to the final film online will be given to every backer. Any donation amount helps, from $1+. Sharing the project is a great help, but funding the project will help us complete it!
As you see from the above footage, we shot on both 16mm film and digital video. The film/video isn't color-corrected yet - let alone edited, and has to undergo cutting, coloring, and extensive sound work. (We filmed in an area heavily populated by airplanes, it seems...)
Here's the breakdown - what you're backing:
- Editing + Post-Production (special effects, fire, etc.)
- Musicians + Sound Work
- Premiere (renting space, tech., etc.)
- Equipment Rentals
- Distribution (DVDs, festival entries, etc.)
How Kickstarter Works
It's easy! All you have to do is click the big, green button 'Back This Project' on the top-right side of the project page, then sign up for a free account with
Kickstarter & Amazon.com - then give any amount you can, and claim your
reward. Your name and donation amount will not be publicly displayed.
*** We receive your funds only if we meet our full $5,500 goal. If we don't reach our goal, you don't get charged (but, we get nothing).
You're also welcome to donate without claiming a reward - and if you’d like to increase your donation at any point during the campaign, just sign in, come back to this page, and click the blue "Manage Your Donation" button to enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive!
For those who have been sharing the project - thank you so much for your support. But, we need the funding to complete the project, and any donation helps ($1, 5, 10...)! (Think about it - you can either go out and spend money on a DVD, or donate and see this film - plus the other rewards you'll receive!)
Risks and challenges
Having worked on a number of short films over the years, I am confident that the production of this film will be successful - quality audio, visuals, presentation - no matter what obstacles may arise.
As this film is pretty much in post-production (or will be, once funded!), there are few foreseeable "risks and challenges." This all comes down to time management, and as long as we stay on-track, this film will happen!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
