Hi, I'm Sam, the creator/writer of Geek-Girl - a comic series I have BIG plans for! :)
Published by Markosia, the first Mini-Series came out monthly from November 2016, with its first Collection, Geek-Girl Vol.1: Lightning Strikes! released in August 2017.
The new 4-issue Geek-Girl Series - featuring the 'Crime War' story arc - is a great Jumping-On point for new readers - in which we find the original Geek-Girl hospitalized and a new Geek-Girl taking on the role - with little experience and up against BIG threats!
I'm passionate about the Geek-Girl series, and invested in its world - and one of the aims with the new Kickstarter is to get GG's audience big enough to warrant making the series ongoing. The whole creative team are already signed up. :)
Here're some of the Reviews of issue #1 (clicking on the quotes will take you to the full reviews)...
You can check out a Preview of the book below - and then we'll say Hello to our creative team! :)
Hey, what say we meet the Creators now...?
Sam Johnson is a British comics writer/editor. Sam has a Masters in Creative Writing for Film & TV and has been working in comics for ten years. Among this work, he created Cabra Cini: Voodoo Junkie Hitwoman, which had a strip annually in the Halloween issue of H!M Comics' IF-X anthology; he has self-published two The Almighties one-shots (a comedy super-team co-created with Mike Gagnon); released the first 4-issue Geek-Girl Mini-Series through publisher Markosia monthly from Nov 2016, and ran a successful Kickstarter for its TPB.
Sam's favorite comic and biggest influence is DC's super-team book, Doom Patrol – Grant Morrison's bizarre run back in the day - now successfully returned under My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way.
Colombian Carlos Granda is Geek-Girl's artist. His previous work includes Grimm Fairy tales, The Jungle Book, Heroes of Home Room C (which was successfully funded on Kickstarter) and Pirouette. Besides handling his own workload, Carlos is co-director of The National Comic & Manga Hall and FICCO - groups dedicated to nurturing and exhibiting the artwork of local creators in Medellin www.artstation.com/grandacomicfan
Geek-Girl Colorist Chunlin Zhao lives in Sichuan, China. She has been coloring and illustrating comics since 2012, working on such comics as Wretches, The Misadventures of Electrolyte, and Shogun Knight Dyson V - for publishers including Oddworld, Jackalope and Outland Entertainment.
Geek-Girl's letterer Paul McLaren started off drawing comics as a kid, with his school friend and fellow Scotsman Mark Millar (Kick-Ass, Kingsman, Secret Service) - though went on to have a career in the police. He left the Police Service to work in the Middle East as an Explosive Detection Dog Handler in the private security industry but then (as you do) got back into the comic scene in 2008, when he lettered a small 6 page project called "Camouflage" written by Martin Conaghan (Fallen Heroes), later lettering Martin's Graphic Novel Burke and Hare.
He now works on a number of projects for various publishers, and his most recent have been comics for the Unseen Shadows Universe,(www.unseenshadows.net) and a Graphic Novel about the life of Aleister Crowley.
NOW, let's check out the comics! :)

Risks and challenges
Issues #1-#3 are already complete and work gets underway on issue #4 on Oct 10th; this will be the eighth Geek-Girl comic the creative team have worked together on now. With all seven previous issues having been completed and out for their stated release date, the team will be working to a fixed schedule and we can say with certainty that the issue will be completed and out (produced by the same reliable printer we have used for the previous issues) in December 2018. Your backing will go towards funding the NEXT Geek-Girl story arc! :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
