About this project
After the successful launch of Sim Hero v1.0 last year (thanks to our generous Kickstarter contributors), we've decided to polish & expand upon the game with v2.0!

It's all about the gameplay...
At its core, Sim Hero is a Simulation game not unlike a sports management sim. But Sim Hero is a RPG. So, instead of managing players, you are managing heroes & loot. As an exiled ruler, you recruit heroes and send them into dungeons for loot & fame. Upon their return (if they survive), you are allowed to pour over the detailed combat reports, buy them new skills, send them for training, change their classes and -of course- equip them with epic loot.

What we're adding for v2.0

2. New Dungeons & Loot
We plan to add any and all contributor themed dungeons and perhaps a few of our own! Also, the loot tables will get some more items added to them (both contributor & developer designed).
3. Expanded Event System
All events will be reviewed & tweaked, with a special focus on "Unique Events". We want the events to be more impactful, fun & engaging.
4. Improved Crafting Interface
In addition to reviewing the crafting system in general, we'll be putting a much more user-friendly face to the crafting system. Something like this is in the works:
5. Improved Diplomacy System
The Diplomacy system is in need of some improvements, so we'll be enhancing the interface, player feedback & depth of options/cause & effect.
6. Ultimate Castle Upgrades
Choose your path to glory by specializing your settlement along several lines.
7. Hero Techniques
This will be the first part of the "Hero Strategy" system we plan to add to the game - to give you more control over how your heroes behave in combat.
You may learn & set techniques on each individual hero to focus how they gain TP (Technique Points) in combat. (ie: when they heal... when they take damage, when they hit with a basic attack, etc)
8. Continued Incremental improvements to the game based upon player feedback
We get great ideas submitted to us every week. Those ideas don't just sit in a vacuum, they are tracked along with a myriad of other ideas from the development team. These enhancements do make their way into the game and we're sure a few of them will sneak in as part of the Kickstarter.
Where the Money will Go
A Note on the Rewards
We're allowing the community to have a hand in the development of Sim Hero, but there are some guidelines that must be followed. We reserve the right to rename something a backer creates. We'll not allow any offensive material nor anything ill-fitting of the setting, nor any copyrighted/trademarked material.
Also, if a backer doesn't wish to be listed in the game credits, of course we will respect those wishes.
Matt Plourde and Jason Miceli created Geek Fever Games in 2012, with the explicit mission to "deliver the most exciting and compelling game experiences on this side of the known universe!" We stand firm that SimHero embodies this very goal!
We ran another Kickstarter campaign last year for a fast and furious card game called Mars vs. Earth, raising over 300% of our target goal. Mars vs. Earth is currently in final stages of development and will be released in early 2015.

Risks and challenges
We've already proven that we can release a title ahead of schedule after a successful Kickstarter campaign (in fact, we released 2 different versions of the game along the way).
The only risk lies with the stretch goals. The RPGMaker engine may not be able to handle the massive expansion of the game world, though we do have access to some scripting support to hopefully allow us to overcome those limitations.
In any case, if a stretch goal cannot be fulfilled due to engine limitations, we will do our best to replace that tier with something comparable.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
