About this project
It's not rocket science... just Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock!
GEEK DICE adds Lizard and Spock to the classic game of Rock-Paper-Scissors for an incredibly fun and geeky experience. Players can try to calculate or analyze all they want, but GEEK DICE comes down to chance... and some old fashioned luck!
Gather your friends and family for this exciting game... and may the best GEEK win.
Warning: More players equals larger pots and more laughter!
There have been some questions as to who created Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock. We would like to set the record straight on two points:
- Sam Kass and Karen Bryla created this variation of Rock-Paper-Scissors back in the 90's
- Alien Lab does have their approval and support to incorporate it into our game
All HAIL Sam Kass!
This awesome collectible box will look great on your bookshelf or your game table. The box opens like a book and all of the contents are self contained.
There are five 19mm six-sided dice embossed with symbols for Rock, Paper, Scissor, Lizard, Spock and the GEEK DICE Atom symbol. Because the symbols are embossed into the dice they will never rub off or fade. These dice will last a millennium even if you carry them in your pocket every day!
In addition to the dice, the box contains 150 playing chips and a full color Symbol Analyzation Chart, (i.e., "What Beats What" chart).
Finally, inside the box is a message written in binary code. Only true geeks will be able to read it. Are you up to the challenge?
It's easy to play this fast paced dice game. If you are unsure of what beats what in this game, Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory explains it succinctly. Here is his hilarious explanation:
No worries if you are a little confused. We include an easy to understand chart in each box. The chart is also printed inside of the box, so it will always be nearby for easy reference.
- Each player receives 1 die and an equal number of chips
- Each player antes up 1 chip at the beginning of each round
- All players roll the dice simultaneously
- Consult the chart to see if there is a clear winner or draw
- When a draw occurs the players involved continue rolling off
- Losers are eliminated until the next round
- The winner is allowed a chance to roll the Atom to claim the pot. If the pot is not won it continues to grow
- A new round begins
- The last player with chips wins the game
There are many ways to use the Geek Dice as some of our backers have suggested. For example, the dice can be used as decision makers using the "Atom" symbol as a re-roll. The ways to use these dice are as unlimited as your imagination.
PLAY LONG AND PROSPER!
The Stone of Algaroth was forged by the great Lord Sheldor during the Second Age in order to serve the people of Geekdom. Sheldor forged this stone in the fires of Mount Praxis and wielded its power from the heart of the earth. It is said that this stone contains the origin of all power and unfathomable wisdom. The ancient symbols represent the six infinite celestial dimensions. He or she who wears this precious relic will be blessed with the knowledge of the Universe and will forever rule.

New Extra Items (SWAG)
We are going to give all our wonderful backers ($15 and above) a free key chain (Stone of Algaroth) as a token of our appreciation. If you wish to add additional key chains to your pledge, simply increase your amount by $5 per key chain. Additionally, anyone wanting an extra necklace can do so by adding $15 per necklace to their pledge amount.
We have decided to add a RPSLS "Symbol Analyzation Chart" t-shirt! We are going to offer these in three sizes M, L and XL. If you wish to have one of these one of a kind shirts please add $20 to each pledge and we'll get the size of your shirt once the project is over.
We know there are many other RPSLS shirts available on the market, but ours will be unique and standout among the rest. Our custom artwork and two step silk screening process will make this 100% cotton t-shirt your favorite. It is black with a neon yellow print!
Disclaimer - The shirt in the picture above is a virtual representation and not the actual shirt.

Risks and challenges
As it goes on any creative project, challenges are par for the course. We are proud to say that we are far ahead of the game in that respect. We have found and been working with an industry leader in game manufacturing. All the details of manufacturing have been worked out so you can pledge and be confident that you will receive a top quality product.
Production can be delayed up to sixty days pending volume after the first 4,500 games. The first 4,500 games will be delivered on time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
You must have at least two players to play Geek Dice...but the more the merrier.
He is an internet pioneer and original creator of Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock back in the early 90's.
If you roll the "Atom" in the initial game rounds and at least one other player rolls another symbol, then you are out until the next round. The Atom does not beat anything on the initial rounds, but it is the symbol needed to take the pot. So the "Atom" could be viewed as a love-hate kind of thing. Players HATE to see it on the initial round to determine the winner...but players LOVE to see it when they have beaten their opponent(s) and are rolling for a chance to win the pot.
The dimensions of the game are as follows:
Inches: 5.5 in x 4.5 in x 1.25 in
Centimeters: 13.97 cm x 11.43 cm x 3.175 cm
The overall size is much smaller than most games, which makes it easy to bring to your favorite destination!
KickStarter has a rule in place that does not allow us to have pledge amounts that exceed 10 items. You can however pledge "THE BIG BANG" with a larger amount that would cover a larger order for example: $300 would get you 24 games and 6 necklaces.
